Upcharges for everything: Wi-Fi, breakfast, etc. the ad we booked from said breakfast included. Housekeeping was hard to get. The other party traveling with us was unable to get it during the entire stay. We got it once. The weekend coincided with a kickboxing tournament hosted at the hotel. Parking was overwhelmed, and all services in the hotel were inadequately staffed for the surge. The kickboxing crowd was rowdy and intoxicated without constraint. One man urinated in the elevator right in front of my wife. When we tried to get back into the hotel in the evening, the rowdy crowd got aggressive and would not allow us to pass in the crowded hallways. Clearly, management valued the income from the tournament more than ordinary paying customers. We were promised a call back from management. Hasn’t happened yet.

Our first night my vehicle got broken into the back window busted out. Like many more we saw each day. They charged $15 a day for parking for a gate that lets anyone in & out without a code. Which they give you when you check-in. As we were leaving the hotel for our day out, that’s when we see that the window was busted out with plastic over it. We go to Notify the front desk they told us they had already done a police report. The guy that the front desk was nice, but was fast talker saying how sorry he was & that he will do something to Compensate us. We were suppose to be checking out after 3 night, but ended up staying a extra night so that we could get the window fixed. Thank God we found someone that could fix it that Friday. Which cost us $375.00. We were told from the guy at the front desk that Marriott will contact our insurance company (fast talking) that we should get compensated for the window. As we checking out the receipt only showed credit for 1 night for 1 room we had two rooms. That’s not compensation for what we had to pay for the window. Call corporate NOTHING. As we leaving the hotel we notice 2 more cars with busted back window with plastic with a Berkeley police department card. They’ll be surprised just like we were. Not a good place to stay never again!

We like to stay in the suburbs for Cardinals games and take the Metro into town vs. fighting traffic. The Renaissance is perfect for that, with a free shuttle to Lambert and then $5 for an all-day pass to ride the metro. Quick and easy. The hotel was quite full (Friday night), but once we got to our room it was perfectly quiet. Room and bathrooms were clean, bed was comfortable; no complaints. Staff was friendly. Disappointed there was no free breakfast. We did not try the restaurant. One great amenity is the free destination electric car charging, we used the Tesla chargers. I believe there were 4 Tesla chargers available (Ievel 2 at 240v), and only 1 spot was used the entire time we were there. We parked in a charger spot overnight and were all charged up by morning. There was a security guy in the lot keeping an eye on things. Overall a great experience, we will definitely stay here again!

I wanted to like the property - I really did. As many guests point out the Marriott down the road isn't particularly great either, and at least the lounge here is open for us elite guests -- and they go above and beyond with free booze for four hours. Unfortunately, it seems like that's where the praise for this property ends. Check-in was rushed which is fine if it's done properly. But if it wasn't for my asking I would have never known about the lounge. I asked for points at check-in and they never appeared on my folio, FYI to those that take points and not the F&B credit - check your accounts! Beyond check in housekeeping was poor. They ignore the do not disturb signs and begin keying into rooms while you're sleeping to try to rush you out at 9-10am. There were 2 conditioners in the room (neither of which are the proper brand for a full-service hotel - #SupplyChain?). I asked at the desk twice for a shampoo and finally gave up when I went back down a third time and asked if they even had any on the property -- clearly not. Breakfast in the restaurant on Saturday morning was incredibly poor. They served drinks out of plastic cups, ran out of plates and gave out plastic forks/knives. I would never join them for dinner after this kind of experience at breakfast which is probably for the best with a dinner menu clearly designed for those spending other people's money. Speaking of money did the mobile checkout and never got a receipt. Sure enough when I check my account this morning there's an extra charge for a "gift shop, " item at $4. Not going to break the bank, but I called due to the principle. Weird interaction where I was integrated about "not getting a water or anything, this is the area by our desk, are you sure?" Like get real, Renaissance staff: I'm not about to waste my time contacting you all to save a couple bucks on something I actually consumed when I've got a free lounge with whatever water I need right in there. Look, none of these items on its own would have resulted in me being upset enough to leave a review - especially where it's clear someone does care about guests given the extras they are throwing in at the lounge and the generous hours in general. That said, there's so much structurally wrong even some free booze couldn't cover it up.

The hotel is older, but the rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The executive lounge is open again with beer and wine during happy hours. I have stayed at the nearby Marriott during the last 2 visits (dirty, poorly staffed and dreadful service). This was far better.

Hotel was okay. Not the worst but for the price the rooms could be more up to date and more well kept. When you first walk in you are expecting more from the rooms because the overall experience when you first walk is great. Hotel lobby, bar area and pool is very well kept. The gym and pool are absolutely amazing. The restaurant for food was very expensive. No free breakfast. The staff was friendly. Our room closet door was broken, the shower was very hard to work, the TV worked at first but the longer you had it on it would go dark and you couldn't see it.

Great hotel stay. This is an older hotel but well maintained with modern décor. The hotel restaurant had fast friendly service. Business casual atmosphere with a live musician. Food was very good as well as the drinks.Look forward to staying here again when in the St Louis area

I liked our stay but the switch in the tub was really dirty and the mattresses for a bit hard for me to sleep on. My grandmother has been bite twice while we are in this room I think there may be a bug in our room. And also the tub in our room didn’t drain properly.

My wife and I traveled to St Louis for a weekend trip. The Rennaissance was one of the lower priced options, but the hotel was amazing. Just off the interstate, making it easy to get to anywhere that you want to go. The room was very nice, clean, and in great shape. The breakfast buffet was simple, but the food was great! All-in-all, we will definitely look to stay here again on our next trip!

We’ve been making frequent work trips to St Louis for about seven years. We had been passing by this hotel, kind of put off by the dark exterior. When we tried it prepandemic we were surprised by how great it looked inside. The best part was an awesome concierge lounge. So we tried it again recently. At checkin I asked if the lounge was open and was told it was. I went up and it was locked but a sign said appetizers would be served at 5:30 so I went back up about six. Still locked so I went to reception and they assured me it was open. I said I had tried it twice. They discussed among themselves whether it was open and had me wait while someone went up to check. It was indeed closed. I expressed my disappointment and when I asked they gave me some water. Many hotels offered vouchers for a drink or breakfast when the lounge is closed. They offered not so much as an item from the market area by reception. I would have asked but I didn’t know that existed . By this time my coworkers had given up and we all went to bed foodless since it seemed too much trouble to leave the hotel with no restaurants near by anyway. I had no other issues except no washcoth in the bathroom. Others in my group had complaints about the upkeep of their room. One staff person at checkin was fistbumping everyone with status. As lifetime titanium I didn’t really want a fist bump but would have appreciated a gesture instead of misinformation and gaslighting me about the closed concierge lounge. No room upgrade. Room was functional but the space between foot of bed and tv was tight. Bathroom small but functional. Pool looked small but inviting.
