This place has some yummy drinks and food! I really enjoyed this place so much. Such a great place to bring your date. Also, the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!

I recently had an opportunity to check out Planter's House thanks to a Happy Hour organized by Steven B, or local Yelp fame. Steven knows cocktails, so if you are ever given a chance, I highly recommend attending one of his happy hours or following him on Yelp.Planter's House is located on the outskirts of Lafayette Square, however it still within walking distance from the heard of the square. Once inside, you will notice a warm, inviting bar with both booth and table seating for larger groups. During my visit, I grabbed a seat at the bar and was immediately greeted with a smile and welcome. My bartender informed me that it was still happy hour and they were offering discounts on various drinks.I started off with an Old Cuban, which was made with Plantation 5yr Rum, Mint, Lime, Angostura Bitters, Bubbles; it was a perfect drink to start off my evening. If you are a fan of good rum, this is your drink.Food is available here, although I didn't get to order anything to eat during my visit. Both service and atmosphere at Planter's House were excellent, prices were reasonable for the quality of the drinks being served. Everything here was made to order, which in some places is a rarity. Overall if you are craving a cocktail, I recommend you check out Planter's House.
The bartender knows what he/she is doing. One of the best places to go if you want to taste some quality and variety of cocktails. Food was bland, nothing interesting in the food menu except for the spicy french fries. They go well with the drinks.
They have signs that the drinks are mixed elsewhere, but it still sucks. The duck Confit was essentially perfect. The drinks were legit great. Wife and I got so inspired by the drinks we went home and played mixologist, attempting to recreate drinks. Fortunately we have obscure Italian herbal liquors, because that's the secret sauce. The decor was great, seats comfortable, with hooks under the bar. If you don't know, then start checking, no hook under the bar means the place is low class...chill...I love dive bars, but I've been to dive bars that have hooks under the bar.
Solid solid solid. Excellent experience here. We came in just for drinks, no dinner. Had a few cocktails, and got a great hookup for my brother; the bar manager was able to help him find a liqueur for which he'd been searching. Wonderful spot.
I went just for one drink last night and that was definitely an excellent choice. I got the Mumbai Jam and it was so good! For dessert I got the pineapple gooey butter cake (don’t know why I got the cake because I don’t like gooey butter cake but it wasn’t bad, I will definitely get the brownie the next time I go!). Overall, I’d go back for sure to try the full range of their cocktails and I can see it being a cute date spot.M

The drinks were excellent, loved the Mint Julep! The food was slightly overrated. The fries came with a homemade ketchup and aoli, both which were inedible. The aoli had no flavor and the ketchup was just gross. They don't carry regular ketchup, bummer!
this was great! sippin Santa was really fun. better than that other place we were going to go.
