Tex-Mex Mexican
(314) 961-9110

This is a quick and easy place to eat some very well cooked Tex-Mex. It is always a busy place but the ordering process is simple. One of my favorites when I'm in the area.

This place has changed a lot over the last few years. Not favorably. We used to really enjoy meeting at this quaint little place regularly. The food used to be REALLY good. Now, it's just, eh, más o menos. What's most telling is they're now serving margaritas in styrofoam cups!! EEEW!! Who can healthfully enjoy, let alone want to pay for and drink an alcoholic beverage served from a cup made of benzene, styrene and monomers? And which won't biodegrade in my lifetime. Not only is this environmentally irresponsible but an economic decision made by the establishment which also shows exactly what this business thinks of its paying customers - not much. How about some carcinogens to go with that margarita and taco? Another reviewer mentions seeing these people microwave a styrofoam container!?!?This from Quora.com on drinking alcoholic beverage from sytrofoam: "The styrene monomers will break down, not only this but drinking out of foam cups can be toxic due to the chemicals Benzene and Styrene in the styrofoam. Do not drink tea with lemon, coffee with dairy cream, fruit juices, alcoholic beverages and wine".The service level demonstrated isn't how any paying customer should be treated. And even buy their limited counter service. No longer do they ask whether you'd like salt or sugar on your margarita (ahem) styrofoam cup. We both ordered tacos. Friend had the shrimp tacos and I had the chicken. So why were the chicken tacos not served with pico de gallo but the shrimp tacos were? What seemed like a small oversight turned into my regrets for even asking the question. The short black girl behind the counter may as well have flipped me the bird. Besides the look, she gave a curt reply of 'that's extra'. So, I pressed as to the reason it's served with the shrimp but not the chicken tacos. No reply. What a way to make your customer feel welcome at your place....omg. She's obviously part of the problem.Sooo - OK...whatever...not going back there -- EVER. Totally rude. Why would I want to pay for service like this and ingest petroleum byproducts - all at the same time?? I have no desire to go back to this place when there are MANY other really good, in fact, much better restaurants of Mexican fare in St Louis. Like El Indio just down the street. May I also suggest El Tapatio located at Hampton & Fyler, and Sunny's Cantina @ 6655 Manchester in Dogtown. Delicious stuff!! Both which offer better food quality and service standards than this DUMP of a place!!Nachomama's: What once was a great little place but which is no more and will likely not ever be again. Nothing lasts forever...except the damn styrofoam cup.

Disgusting. Tbh not a huge tex Mex fan (authentic Mex preferred) but this was the must disgusting chicken chimi I have had the displeasure to throw away. Mostly rice, onion, beans, gross red sauce ate half with only one a tiny piece of chicken. Partner had 1/4 chicken and it was barely a leg. I guess if you like nachos with no lettuce then ok... small menu board. Lots of people like it, unpopular opinion I know, never going back

We need more Tex-Mex restaurants across this country! The tacos have been my favorite for over 15 years. Whenever I’m in STL, this is a must-eat place for me.

Yikes! We had really high hopes for this place, but it was disappointing. Two meals and 3 drinks for $50 from a drive-through Tex Mex joint is kind of a rip. The beans were trash, the rice was okay, and you can get a better quesadilla from Fuzzy's. The inside is very underwhelming. The best part of the place was the fun cashier named John. Some lady in a pink hoodie in the kitchen kept yelling at him, making it awkward for everyone. I highly doubt we will be back.

Came in the drive through at about 8:50 pm. (At this time two cars ahead of me already ordered) The intercom person asks what would I you like to order? I begin to say my order then they quickly respond "hold on one moment please we'll be right with you" I'm like ok. Two cars behind me. 15 minutes pass, no response from intercom at all. Then person in car behind me asks from their car window, "hey man I just called them they said I could come order, they said nobody is in the drive thru. Try calling them" so I call them and they said "we will reopen tomorrow at 1030.TLDR Ok so they basically just closed an hour early without saying anything and left me at the drive thru intercom for 20 minutes with mo response

Authentic decor. Good food and drink.

Great casual spot for some tacos and beer!

Quite a long wait for dine in... Staffing shortages of 2021 you know. But still great food. And one of the only places that you can get a nice meal from the drive thru.

My friend and I dined in and the food was good. However, they forgot to give me my to-go order, which I was suppose to receive before my food came. I stay over 30 minutes away. I called to get a refund and they told me they could mail me a check. I did not feel secure about the situation so I called back to tell them I would drive back out the next day. The worker and owner rushed me off the phone. They were so rude.
