Great Mexican food diner style restaurant. Big interior with murals. Flavorful food and WOW do you get a lot for your dollar. Portions are large and the food is fresh and served fast. A lunch special runs from $6.50 to $9 but even the smallest plate is filling.Not fine dining. Not a hipster place. Just good food for the soul...
The place was packed but we were seated in 30 minutes or less. The food is delicious! The atmosphere is nice and the service was great!
It was three of us eating this time, fajitas, Ribs, grilled chicken over Spanish rice! Everything was delicious ? I never have any complaints! The service is always awesome,Shout out to Raquel she was amazing!
I'm gluten free and dairy free. The waiter helped me find fish, rice and beans, no cheese to make my dinner delicious.This is a very busy place but they seat you and feed you quickly.
Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. Despite us having a large, unplanned group, only one error in our order occurred (the wrong flavor margarita was served) but it was quickly fixed. My margarita was strong but not overwhelmingly so. The empanada was delicious and the churros were fresh.
Our go to Mexican restaurant! I was introduced to Mi Ranchito when I moved to St. Louis in 2014 and it's been the most consistent, great food/service/speedy, etc. Very seldom do we have to wait, we can walk in and get sat, service is friendly and quick. The food and chips/salsa are great! We can barely get a basket of chip ate and our food is out. Its not hard to be in and out of here in 45 minutes if you're there to just eat. The menu is extensive, beers/margaritas available too. Dinner is around $10-$13 a plate, per person and good sized portions. The decor and atmosphere is very typical, upbeat and clean. You know walking in it'll be a good experience, this place doesn't disappoint.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in the St. Louis area. We found it because we lived only a few minutes from it at our last house, now we live in a new house 20 min away and we still have this place in constant rotation, throughout the whole pandemic too. Their mole sauce is scrumptious, their tamales are phenomenal (though sometimes they vary just a bit in quality, so do try them more than once), and their chimichangas are also great, to name some favorites. But really it's pretty hard to go wrong with your selection, we've been through most of the menu at this point and rarely are disappointed. If you're into drinks, their margaritas are delicious, especially the frozen ones (but do be a little cautious because the frozen ones are VERY strong). Every bit as good as their food, their service staff should be the model of how restaurant service works for everyone, they are so speedy, so attentive, so courteous, and their COVID-19 era takeout system is every bit as good-- only drawback is you still have to make a phone call, but, again, well-oiled machine when you pick it up, with attentive curbside service and designated pickup spots. Really, the worst thing I have to say about the place is the parking lot is too small to accommodate the hopping business they do every week, which isn't even necessarily their fault!
Hands down the best authentic Mexican food around. The wait is never wrong and your order will always be correct. Never had an issue with missing food or the wrong order. You can order ahead and they will come to the car curbside to bring you your food and collect payment.
I've been coming here for years...fellas want place to talk to your date and not break your pockets.. ladies night put for good drinks this is a good place want food quick.. hot and seasoned with authentic recipes this is the place. REALLY CHEAP and the drinks are great.. make sure you have a driver if you have more than 2 of the frozen ones!
It's fine. Nothing to write home about. Is probably the best you're going to find in U City just due to lack of competition. Haven't found another Mexican place anywhere else in the area.
