This hotel is older and it shows. The rooms are not tiny but not large, and it's fine for an overnight stay before a flight. The HVAC was loud and the water pressure was a bit weak, and the wi-fi was slow. On the other hand, the bed was comfortable and the room was fairly clean. The downside of this property is the staff. It's obvious that they are understaffed in some areas, but the staff that are there was abysmal. I don't appreciate the front desk pointing to some other employee Im supposed to go to in order to resolve my issue. Check in agent was apathetic, other interactions weren't any better. However, the shuttle driver was great and the service was excellent, with runs every 20 minutes 24/7.
VERY DANGEROUS AREA!!! We picked this hotel because it is so close to the airport. We have stayed at other hotels close to the airport many times with no issues. This was our first time staying at this hotel. The lady who checked us in was very nice and efficient. After dropping our stuff off at the room we went to a local casino for a few hours and then came back for the night. The next morning before going to catch our plane for our trip for my birthday we learned that our car had been broken into! Our doors were all locked like usual. We didn't have anything visible in the car. They popped the glass completely out of the back driver's side door and put scratches down the side of the door. We filed a report with the hotel who now says it is park at your own risk even though they charge you to park there. We filled a police report as well and the officer said that this hotel has cars broken into all of the time and another car was broken into the same night ours was.! BEWARE IF YOU DECIDE TO TAKE YOUR CHANCES AND STAY AT THIS HOTEL YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR CAR AND POSSIBLY YOURSELF AT RISK! The hotel is not very nice for the price compared to other hotels in the area. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again and recommend you don't either.
Bit unimpressive for a Marriott to say the least. First off, we booked a room with a king bed and when we got there, we were told we'd get two double beds, no offer to upgrade or anything, even though it was clear we were a couple and two people in a double bed isn't always super comfortable...Bedsheets were very worn down, the fill in the comforter was completely bunched as shown in the picture (which they thankfully did change), reception didn't really explain where the room was (a couple of other guests were also lost) or the situation with the parking and someone (housekeeping?) opened our room door at 9:00 a.m. without knocking and we weren't even scheduled to be checked out till the next day. Only good thing is it's close to the airport and the shuttle driver was very polite.
We attended the Mid-Missouri Music Festival. The hotel’s air conditioning was damaged due to flooding in St. Louis. However, we got a letter from the event coordinator to say everything was fixed and functional. When we arrived to check in we were told that the air conditioning was not fixed but should be by evening. We went to the rooms and the mildew odor was overwhelming. Back to the check in counter. Next set of rooms were at about 83°. We went back to the desk to ask for assistance. The woman at the desk was so helpful. She told us many people were going to other hotels. We asked to speak to the event coordinator who emailed to tell us everything was fine. She was out of the office until next week. We then spoke to the manager Malaysia. She was rude and told us that we can go somewhere else, but offered no apology or options. We asked about Hilton that was close. She said yes they will honor our event rate. Needle to say the Hilton desk clerks had no idea what we were talking about. However after we explained they graciously honored the rate. Our experience there was great.
It turns out that this hotel in NOT managed by Marriott and it shows. Upon entry from outside, we were accosted by a horrific stale, musty, moldy smell. That same smell, it turns out is also in my pillowcases. They have obviously suffered some mold growth. Elevators are not clean and the general lack of real care is obvious through out the building. If this is a 4/star in St. Louis, it says more to me about St.Louis than I'd care to admit. I will not return and I would not recommend to others.
I will preface this that the GM did reach out after I cancelled my reservation and refunded our room.I booked the room online and when we showed up, my first inclination was to immediately leave. It was around 11:30 pm when we went to check-in. The exit arm for the parking lot was constantly up which was my first concern. Then as I was attempting to check-in, a young mother had come back to the desk as the room she was assigned was not clean. She had two exhausted kids and needed to sleep. The gentleman helping her behind the desk responded “Our housekeeping sucks.” To which the young woman helping me stated “I know I’ve been chewed out all day”. We were assigned a room and before we went to the room, wanted some water bottles, to which the pantry had none. I returned to the desk where everyone behind the counter were chugging water bottles. She did bring a case of water from the back and give us two.As we were walking to our room, I noticed many doors that were propped open by the lock bar and thought it was odd. I then noticed all the trash in the halls, including a pile of sheets and trash outside one door, but we kept walking. Two doors down from our room, four young men exited a room that was loud with many people and loud music. I tried to enter our room and the keys didn’t work. After seeing and hearing all that was going on, I decided to immediately leave. I followed the four guys out, and we met a group of four young women who also looked like they were there to party. The halls were a mess, it smelled of cannabis and I was done. There were multiple groups of young people hanging in the halls and down by the conference area/pool. It looked like party central for a Saturday night.Honestly, I’ve never seen a Marriott in this condition and lack of professionalism. To have your front desk person tell two guests that your housekeeping “sucks” is an embarrassment to the hotel and brand. We left and were given a full refund.
Hard bed. Old A/C units that work poorly. Clogged filters not being maintained. Water pressure in the showers are the worst! Old feather pillows and covers. Stinky/wet gym.Good location. Decent restaurant. Starbucks coffee.
Rooms were fine, my room was a bit dusty on the nightstands. Otherwise the staff was friendly and super helpful. The location is a fine for my needs but being so close to the airport the roads get confusing for Google maps. Typically it would route me 5 min longer than necessary.
Had a great stay. Every interaction with staff was superlative. They all went above and beyond despite some unusual requests that we had due to a sick traveler. Room was clean and spacious. Only possible gripe was lame coffee supplies in room. Free wifi was fast. Would stay here again in a second.
Another great stay at the St. Louis Marriott Airport Hotel! Outstanding service from the entire staff. Conveniently located across the street from the airport and I-70. The bar and restaurant stays open until 1am, the club lounge is open again, updated rooms, and late night shuttle service making this one of my favorite places to stay in St. Louis. I highly recommend this hotel. A special thank you to Brandi, Ramon, JoAnne, and Matt for going above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing stay.
