Lots of posts about poor service from one gentlemen there for good reason…. Hands down the rudest and worst service I’ve ever received, and the only time I can remember in my life in which I felt compelled to not leave a tip. I don’t need to be “buddy buddy” with my waiter, but this guy’s demeanor is so bad that it truly ruins the dining experience. Not only is he rude, he didn’t check on us once during our meal, and he managed to give my credit card/bill to a couple at another table……Unfortunately, I can’t say that the quality/portions of food was much better than the service.
They food here is very delicious, and the owner is a very nice guy, friendly, and professional. I don't know why people say he isn't, but from all of my experience here I really like the place and the vibe 5 stars! I always get the P4= special pork chop over rice, and the C1.
The waiter lacked any sense of decorum. Did not expect him to be my new best friend, but also didn’t expect to be treated rudely. Basically tossed our menus on the table as we sat down. Not friendly and he seemed impatient while we ordered. Never asked if we wanted a refill of water. (I did.) My curry lamb was delicious. My husband’s campfire pot ($22.95) was mostly broth, six pieces of shrimp, and very few vegetables. We first went to Pho Grand, but it was closed for a private party. Their campfire pot is more like a stew, far superior to Lemon Grass, with generous portions.Don’t see us returning when we weren’t made to feel welcomed.
No service at all, the waiter feels like just divorce with his wife.... Very rude...also the tips was automatically charged....Be carful, they don't care about service
I saw some posts about bad service, we had two people with dietary restrictions in our group (both dairy free one gluten free) and he was able to tell us what was safe for them to eat. Food was amazing, would definitely recommend going here. Many vegan options as well.
Love the food. I love the old guy too. He may not be polite, but he's efficient. Also he doesn't speak good English and asks for you to tell him the number of your order. I have been many times, and will continue to return.Had I realized I had not previously posted a review, I would have snapped photos. We had the chicken soup( had okra and pineapple, noodle). Tasty.Vietnamese spring rolls, delicious ( I burnt my mouth I bit in it too fast, and continued anyhow like a dummy)I had the Beef and celery with chilies in spicy brown sauce. Spicy as it was, I added Sriracha and wanted more heat, maybe it was just me yesterday. To drink had the lemon tea( it is sweetened)Was good not overly sweet nor too much lemon.I've done the hot pots before, and these are good as well. Mmm crispy rice. Here's to you shuffling server guy!!I'll be in again soon.
Pho is really good, food for that matter is great! Service not so much. Your not greeted, your not spoken to but at. Never a thank you or your welcome or please come back. Menues are snatched from your hands, Bowl of soup Is slammed down on table. They are NOT friendly at all. This is third time here and same thing everytime. So we take the bad service for the great food. Don't expect the ONE server to be friendly. If you can get pass that the food is good.
Don’t let the assertive server scare you! He’s super efficient and pays attention to your table needs. The food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the hot pot. Rice at the bottom is perfectly crisped. Plenty of meat and veggies on top. Curry lamb was tasty as well. Go in here with the expectation that the food is good. And the lobsters on the walls have glowing eyes.
Honestly I doubt the owner/server cares at this point or even bothers to read these reviews because he hasn’t changed a bit. In fact, I think his service has become even ruder and that’s coming from someone who has been going to LemonGrass since 2012. Usually I can just handle his rude behavior, but today was too much.I went in this afternoon with my parents and husband to celebrate my birthday. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes before the rude server came over with our waters. He abruptly asked us if we knew what we wanted and we did. My dad said iced coffees for all of us and an order of spring rolls, to which I said “as well as an order of summer rolls please”. He immediately jumped on me and said “one person at a time, tell me everything you want”. His tone was so abrasive and it felt very hostile. He just seemed put out by our visiting even though there were only two other tables in the entire restaurant. We got our orders in and he only brings out one ice coffee. I said “oh sorry, we all wanted ice coffees” as my dad had pointed out earlier but he said “you didn’t tell me that when it was your turn. This is my system.” In an incredible aggressive tone. It really just made us all feel uncomfortable. The rest of the meal he never checked on us or even looked in our direction. One woman brought out our food and she was a friendly, helpful face. She asked us if we needed anything else and it was a breath of fresh air. It’s a disappointment because the food is actually delicious, but I can’t support a restaurant that treats their paying customers with such little respect. I will be going Pho Grand from here on out.
A couple dishes for lunch takeout were really good. The shrimp in the noodles dish were well done and the beef in my curry beef rice combo was really tender and tasty.
