Fine dining at its finest. The service was second to none. The prime rib was as good as advertised. Highly recommend it if you are craving prime rib.My girl had the 12 once fillet and it was cook to perfection. The dessert was good as well and sharable. Our server was always attentive and provided excellent service. Highly recommend this place for fine dining.
We ate here with my husband's co-workers. The group was large so we were in the downstairs dining area which is decorated in naval decor. While we waited for everyone to arrive our waiter Maz took our drink orders. Maz selected a bottle of 2017 Jordan Cabernet for my husband and I. It was very delicious!Once we sat at our table there were lovely appetizers ready for us to eat. The shrimp cocktail and bacon-wrapped scallops were fantastic!I ordered the ribeye and wedge salad. My husband ordered the king size prime rib. Both steaks were very delicious. I'm not usually a big fan of prime rib but I tried several bites of my husband's and it was great! The waiter had an assistant that helped refill waters and clear plates. He was very fast and attentive. Maz was very friendly, professional, informative, and had a great sense of humor. It was a great time!
Still on of the best places for steak and date nights in the greater St. Louis area. Awesome food, great staff & top notch service.
I had a party of 16 for my bday and the place did a wonderful job taking care of us. The steaks were tender and cooked just right. The drinks were amazing! The wait times were still excellent! Our waiter Richard made it better by keeping up with the energy of my crowd. I really enjoyed myself ❤️
Easily one of St. Louis’s best steakhouses. They have been here for quite sometime. I come here quite often for worked related dinners or special occasions. The atmosphere is relaxing and dimly lit, more of an intimate setting. The bar area somewhat splits some of restaurant and has enough seats for a few groups, especially if you are waiting on a table and having cocktails. But this place has plenty of seating in the back too and restroom’s are located in the middle of the two dining areas. Above all the service is always amazing. Very knowledgeable of the menu and can help assist anyone who is unsure of what they want. And one must also tip their hat to the cooks. Time and time again they can get any steak order just how you like it. Love coming here when I get the opportunity and you should too. Now about the food:They are most famous for their cuts of prime rib, which I will say is quite impressive. Comes with a side of horseradish and a side. The extra cut, well that is something else. Now my go to item on the menu here is their 20 oz filet mignon! Omg this this is one hell of a cut of meat. Each time I ordered mine Pittsburg charred, garlic rubbed, rare and they nail it time after time!!. Nonetheless you can go wrong with any cut, it will be cooked to you liking. The sides are well portioned and the small salads are not overkill. And don’t forget dessert like the carrot cake, you will not be disappointed.
We went to Kreis' for our anniversary. Everything was outstanding. The service was attentive and super friendly. I had the prime rib in my head after reading some reviews so I ordered the king cut. It was perfect and was so big that I got several other meals out of it! My wife ordered the filet topped with grilled shrimp which was fabulous and a more normal size. Finished with cheesecake on the house.
I have wanted to go here for a long time. This restaurant has been here since the 1940's and owned by only 3 families. They still provide service the original way a fine restaurant used to and a major plus one of only a couple in St Louis that serve dry aged steaks. The food is immensely satisfying and the waite staff extremely responsive and prompt and made us feel like we were truly appreciated. You need to go here you will not regret it
I went there to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and was not disappointed. our server, Maz and the young woman who assisted were terrific. I had the queen cut prime rib and the flavor was spot on. Of course, the fried mushrooms were likely the best I've ever had, as they were not your typical bar appetizers. At the recommendation of Maz I went with a wedge salad, that was sprinked with tasty bacon and some of the most flavorful blue cheese crumbles one could eat.
Hubby and I truly enjoyed our dine in experience the food was awesome. you must try the crab cakes!! So delicious ? will definitely dine here Again, not to mention the awesome service...and special Anniversary cheese cake compliments of the restaurant...well please
An established old-guard steakhouse with a German touch. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Kreis' never disappoints. Great food, attentive service and the special feel of a long established steak house. If you walk out of here hungry or disappointed then YOU failed. We eat there once or twice a year for special occasions and we always look forward to returning. A true St. Louis gem.
