Our family went there to celebrate my stepdaughter's birthday. It was quite an experience. The food was cooked in the Japanese style of course, and there was plenty of it. MJ and I had egg rolls for appetizers. Everyone got a salad and broth as part of the dinner. The entrees were plentiful and delicious. My lady and I had steak and chicken. Quite good. The unique experience was having our food prepared on front of all of us. The cook didn't just cook, he put on a humorous performance. His was witty and entertaining. He played music with the cooking utensils and the steel cutting service. He was worth the show. He was a good cook too.We all had a great time and plan to go there again.
Food, price, service. Fabulous! Carmen gets 5 stars for a Cosmopolitan that was finger-lickin' good! Thanx, everyone. Special thank you to Carmen.I have to save 5 star food for something extraordinary. This place was wonderful! I'll be back, soon.
Kobe's is always an enjoyable experience. Our server and chef were both very interactive and accommodating. Our party enjoyed the environment and the food.I had the salmon and shrimp w/noodles, but was able to try almost all the items because it so much food!
Went for my husbands birthday. Kobe’s always gives us a reason to dress up. They tasted amazing as usual and the entertainment was great ! I like how each chef is different but equally funny and entertaining. We will forever come back !
Went to a birthday party with a couple of friends and we had a blast. Our waiter was very quick to take our orders, got our drinks, salad and soups very quickly (and there was 10 of us altogether!). We had a very entertaining chef who was very fun to talk with and fun to watch when cooking the food. We were all impressed and incredibly satisfied. Great birthday all around and will definitely come back for more!
We had a reservation for 6:30 and we were not able to be seated until 7:00. We waited at the bar until another party showed up to fill up the table since we only had 4 in our party. We enjoyed cocktails while we waited. We were offered a milkshake and an appetizer on the house since we waited a little longer. This was greatly appreciated. They were very busy but the staff did their best to accommodate and make us happy! Our chef was so funny and cooked everything perfectly. We enjoyed the food and the experience. Thank you for the special night.
Another awesome meal at Kobe Steakhouse of Japan at Westport Plaza in St. Louis. I’ve been in the habit of ordering the filet for my entree and remaining satisfied with my shrimp appetizer for a number of years, but I finally decided that the shrimp is simply too good to settle for just a few. This time I ordered the Komasan under “Specialties” (filet and shrimp combo), and I’ll probably be ordering this from now on. Soooooo good. Of course the miso soup and salad with ginger dressing continue to deliver. I’d come here weekly if I could. I always leave pleased. Can’t wait to come back.
Host was very friendly! Took awhile to get our drinks but waitress was very attentive. Chef seemed in a hurry but still was fun with the kids. Steak was cooked perfect. Was bummed there was no sushi.
My friend and I would come here almost weekly, for years, and it was great! Awesome staff, even better food and their wait time from waiting area to food in your mouth was always efficient. Lately, the last few visits have not been as pleasant. The staff has a more nonchalant attitude and we’ve encountered a few who are just flat out rude. The wait times have increased and I’ve never sat at a table for so long without being offered a drink. I’m not sure if the management has changed or what, but it is not the same. However, the food is always delicious and spot on for what I request!!
My wife and I attempted to have a nice meal here since we have always heard great things about it. We made a reservation for 8:30 on a Saturday night and arrived five minutes beforehand. As soon as we walked in, it was chaos. They didn’t have enough pagers and told us we can wait in the lounge or at the bar. We decided to grab a bottle of wine from the bar and take it to the table with us. We finally ordered our drink after the two separate bartenders noticed we were starting to look frustrated. They seemed to be serving friends first along with joking around which made the wait even longer. They didn’t cut the foil when they uncorked it and didn’t pour our glasses either. (The foil seems petty but we were expecting at least some class from this establishment). We waited until 8:50 and decided to ask when we would be seated and couldn’t give us a time but they gave us a pager this time. We ended up setting everything down and walking out. Hopefully it was just a weird night for them but the entire experience was very disappointing to say the least.
