Great place to hike. Do the figure 8 or walk along the river to the Casino. Very peaceful and scenic. Mostly flat with a few gentle hills.
Wish there was more signage or directions online guiding people exactly to the historical gate and even other sites in the park. It's a popular wedding picture place. A gate arch was almost too low for our limo bus to get close in the cold to accomplish the pictures.
I can't say enough how such a beautiful park sets the background for one of the most premier Disc Golf courses in the state along the Mississippi River.With the popularity of the sport growing exponentially, a new course in the woods was set up to challenge the top pro's as well !Appreciation to the JB prkdpt
This is the very best park around. With the national cemetery here and countless acres to Rome hike and walk your dog. We have had lots of family gatherings here also.
WWI event was very educational, the living historians were professional and friendly. Recommend going to next event, I will be going back.
Love going for a walk around the path. This path is best suited for walking and running, not bikes due to the blind corners. If you ever get a chance, try geocaching in the park too. Exploring areas you normally wouldn't climb through.
Beautiful park with great walking trails. There weren't many people there on a Sunday afternoon which was kind of nice - still felt safe though!
Beautiful park with two great disc golf courses. For the most part very well maintained. Only been there once or twice where the grass is a little high in parts.

I grew up going to this park. It's so lovely, great trail and lots of deer. Bring the whole family and the dog, everyone with love it.
