It pains me to give a 3 star review as the venue itself is outstanding. The venue itself is a 5 star place. It's the food and wait staff that falls short. The food is overpriced and all very mediocre. The burger I had today was flavorless. There are far too servers to properly take care of all patrons. Just about every time I'm here my table gets ignored and the servers are nearly impossible to get their attention. Also, I'm not a fan of the new system for checking out guests. It's very distracting seeing the light from the screens move from table to table towards the end of the show. It's also laughable that at an establishment which strongly recommends masks for the "safety of all patrons and staff" doesn't sanitize the little machines everyone uses to pay their check. By the end of the night, everyone in the section has touched it.Fantastic shows, top notch entertainment, terrible food and terrible service.
Wonderful place to hear live jazz. Great food/drink options and service is always top notch. Support live jazz and come visit this wonderful venue!
Great venue for jazz. Always great sound and an intimate feel, especially the later sets.
Top notch establishment! I've been to several jazz clubs around the country and this one has to be ranked one of my favorites. David Sanborn was awesome and my God his band was on point...that base player was perfection at work, the drummer was tight with every beat and the pianist tickled those keys right out of our seats. Food was great and came out timely, oh' the drinks were made to perfection along with a pleasant staff. If we are back in the Lou we will definitely be back. GREAT VENUE FOR AN INTIMATE EVENING.
This place really has a comfortable atmosphere. I totally enjoyed the evening. I came in to listen to David Gomez, and just melted into the bass player, the pianist, and then the drummer. What a blend. The food was tasty. And drinks were good! I especially loved that David and the piano player came to the table and talked with me and the Ladies. Loved it. A memorable day in my life. Thanks JAZZ ST. LOUIS!
We simply love Jazz St. Louis. My wife and I come here every Valentine's Day to see Erin Bode. Last night we came to see Kendrick Smith, Bernard Terry, Ben Dicke, Brady Lewis, and Zach Radwine's tribute to the late Miles Davis. The music was unforgettable. Before the show we got dinner: butternut squash bisque and cheese dip as an appetizer and rigatoni bolognese and shrimp and grits for the main course. It was all delicious! Our waitress, Christine, was very helpful and very friendly. Probably the best service we've had here. We recommend Jazz St. Louis to everyone we know: delicious food, amazing music, and a quaint/intimate atmosphere, perfect for ANY occasion!
Excellent!!! My daughter took my here for the first time on my birthday. The live jazz band was absolutely phenomenal and the food was just incredible. I ordered the cheese grits and shrimp and it was probably the best I've ever had. I also got the bread pudding....again, the best I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
LOVE this place! Such an underrated venue in this city. Great drinks, good food, amazing atmosphere featuring a range of artists. Affordable ticket prices and discounted student prices.
We went for the jazz and enjoyed the food. Clark Terry was represented by a team of players all of whom had played with him A native St. Louisan he is remembered by most from the Tonight Show Band, but he was a band leader before, after and during his television work. The musicians were stellar in their performances and their stories of working with Clark Terry made the night.
Pre-Birthday night out.Sorry but I ate my meal before I got a pictureThe Band, the staff, the food & dessert were amazingI will definitely be there again
