☆BEFORE U CONTINUE, MAKE SURE YOU ASK QUESTIONS WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR ORDER☆ The hubby has been trying to get here for a while, but because of covid they weren't offering the DINE-IN option(then I called this morning and the good news was given?). The graffiti on the building really caught me with the eye-popping colors. The decor was a lil more "boughetto" than I thought, but it set the ambiance as old-skool R&B videos played on the TV. There was a sign that read "WELCOME PLEASE STOP HERE" and I cased the place to attempt finding a host bc there were 2tables occupied and one guest at the bar speaking to a lady. We stood there for about 8-10mins and the bartender, who is also the host apparently called us over to the bar to ask if we wanted to dine in???♀️. We were seated at a table of our choice and looked at the menu(which I had questions? frfr)...ok, sooo what's pictured is it- there's a bar, but no drink menu: SOFT DRINKS were limited and liquor wise, it's only cocktails-no mixed drinks or prices(bill said $6.79/ea) and no water is given without asking. I went with the burger(which only shows bacon or cheese can be added to the 2patties, but doesn't list anything else)and asked if grilled onions were available or if cheese(besides american)was available-i was told no....then my burger came out with EVERYTHING on it(not GRILLED ONION???)-too hungry, I smashed it and errthang was all ??asl?!! From the burger to Mac n cheese(drinks were strong too), I'm hooked and that's exactly why they get a SRONG 3.75stars for me...I gotta go back to try the sweet potatoes
I called in my order and the woman on the phone was very pleasant. When I picked it up customer service was great they were so nice ! And it smells amazing in the restaurant so I was excited to try something new as I’m new to the area. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and was falling off the bone so good Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes and like heaven you got to eat them together ! All around it was a good experience I will be back to try more !
Today we visited City Museum and went to move the car and walked past this spot. A guy was walking in and said the food was fantastic, he wasn't lying! Smothered porkchops were mouth watering delicious. My daughter is vegetarian and ordered the fish which had so much flavor and was a huge portion! Had to get cheese, greens, and sweet potatoes which all had so much flavor and left us with smiles and full bellies!! Were ao glad we didn't get lunch at the crappy snack stand at the museum! This place is a gem!!
I could not have picked a more Perfect spot for my 40th Birthday Celebration. This venue is intimate and warm- decor is current & chic! The food was beyond Amazing (the portions were plentiful) & the staff was very nice & accommodating! Thanks Lavinia for making my event a success!
SUPPORT BLACK OWNED BUSINESS!First of all I love the outside of the restaurant; the art is very dope. The atmosphere and inside of the restaurant is so beautiful. I was beyond comfortable while I was ordering my food. The food was delicious I have no complaints. The candy yams were the correct amount of sweet which I love because sometimes people make them too sweet. I like the mac n cheese and the fish was seasoned to perfection. Ooowiiieeeee I will be coming back. Loved it.
I will definitely give Gourmet Soul their props. They went above and beyond to make up for my original experience. I respect the co-owner for personally meeting me and not only apologizing for the previous order, but re-made the order fresh while I was there. Great ambience and environment, cannot wait until the dining area is back open. Thank you again for the great service, we will be back soon!!!
I ordered the smothered chop, dressing/gravy, greens & mac/chz.Everything was absolutely delicious & seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be returning soon!
Thoroughly impressed! The entire ordering-to-pickup-to-devouring experience was wonderful start to finish. In the mood for something hearty & soulful, I found Gourmet Soul via DoorDash. Because I’m frugal, willing & able I opted for pickup.Price point for each item was fair for the amount of food provided in my order.Delicately fried Swai, Mac&Cheese, Collard Greens & Yams. All made me wanna slap my mama! Some soulful spots have a tendency to “overdo it” with oils & sweeteners, which I’m sensitive to. Gourmet Soul nailed it with just the right amount of this & that…making the dish visually appealing and tantalizing to the palate.Service was prompt & pleasant upon pickup.The exterior was nicely decorated & I’m eager to dine-in when the option becomes available again.

OMG! This place is amazing! Why am I just now finding out about this place?!Amazing staff and owners! Amazing, beautiful and jazzy place with lux and gorgeous decor!I definitely would like to have a private event here, maybe a small wedding dinner or something.The food is absolutely delicious!I just found out about this place and have already been here 3 times in less than a week.?I had fish and chicken with sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese! Hamburger and fries and I got a treat and was able to sample some rice with a cream sauce that was to die for! Hamburger was so good and juicy. The bun was buttered and toasted. Chicken was fresh and crispy. Fish was light and crispy. Sides were great with awesome taste and everything seasoned right! Even the fries are good!I have one picture because I was so into eating.Oh, they also have specials that I’m sure are delicious too!EVERYTHING HERE IS DELICIOUS ? YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTEDCUSTOMER SERVICE IS ON POINT!Owner is genuinely nice with a helpful and pleasant personality.
