The hype is real.We made a side trip before the ball game. Get the hot salami sandwich.Bread was amazing. Meat was amazing. Fixings were amazing

Holy smokes, hot salami as good as advertised! Also these bbq chips could be the best flavor of any chips. Great attention to quality here and the price for the quality is a great deal. Need to go back and try the Italian.

I've been here a bunch. Dozens upon dozens, in the past 3 years. Recently I have frequented it a lot less, and today added to another reason why. I ordered a hot salami sandwich on cheese garlic bread, with a bunch of fixings. Perhaps this is where I erred in a way, but I dont think that entirely so. The bread was so excessively buttered it washed over many of the flavors. After finishing it I felt like I ate buttered baguette with a hint of salami. The giardiniera I added to the sandwich was especially bland, almost no flavor, which seemed unusual. The spicy mustard wasnt spicy. I'll spare the rest of the break down of each component to say nothibg stood out today, besides the buttered bread. Ordering a good sandwich depends on the right components. When ordering today, the counter person, while certainly friendly, was so overly energetic they basically took control of my order while ordering, suggesting that, I want 'traditional toppings' like it was a great suggestion. It was not. I added my usual toppings and while feeling hurried into adding a drink and paying, I wanted chips which were oddly located behind me as I faced the register. Here's the thing- I was the ONLY guest in there and my time deciding and ordering was rushed at me and co-opted by the counterperson, which led to a below average sandwich and not what I had visited them for. They don't take cash anymore (absurd), and I think the attention to detail to the quality and build in a sandwich has been lacking. I get it, they do a lot of business, it's not always perfect, good reliable help in restaurants is hard to find, but this visit does not give much reason to be back soon. The salami is excellent though. Definitely try it if you haven't. Avoid ordering it with traditional toppings and ask them to go easy on the condiments. They need to accept cash in store again, which I know is more work to manage, but its a sandwich shop with one single register; its not like a stadium with hundreds point of sales. Come on. Its not really customer friendly having a no cash policy, and right now their product isn't compelling enough to pay their way, wait too long, or contend with a personality at the counter to get a proper order.

My daughter insisted we stop here for lunch and especially to have the hot salami sandwich with garlic cheese bread and the St. Louis symtyle cheese. Certainly was not disappointed! Do expect to wait as the line was long and there were alot of take out orders lined up.

The original hot salami. That's it, I'm sure everything else is great. In business for over 100 yrs, and it's shows. Be prepared for a wait, but not too long. I'm going back soon, very, very soon.

This was our first time here and man, the hype is true - so delicious. I got the 6inch Italian Trio and it had a good portion of fresh cut meat, toppings and bread that has just the right amount of crisp to it.Ordering was quick and we got our food pretty good fast considering how busy they were. If you are even the slightest interested in checking this place out, you 100% should.

I now understand why Gioia's gained national recognition. You will too. I went there on my son's recommendation. The Italian trio is what I got. Fabulous. I'll be back and so will you.

Your mouth waters upon entering and you’re unsure which of the sandwiches will satisfy your instant craving. Let me tell you, the Italian Trio will absolutely do the job. The bread perfectly toasted to cradle the meats and accoutrements inside. Superb.

Ordered the Italian Delight on garlic bread w/mozzarella and an onion/olive oil vinegar dressing, toasted…soooo good! Will definitely be back.

Magnificent sandwiches. Hot salami and roast beef were the best I've ever had.
