You’re missing out if you’ve never been here. The food is excellent. Very authentic feel. The prices were very reasonable as well.
This was my time at a specifically nicaraguan restaurant so my reference point is just food I have had in general. Nevertheless, I found it to be extremely well made. I had the fried half chicken, my friend ordered the carne asada, and we split the braised pork appetizer. I generally tend to go for a thinner crust (think like nashville hot chicken) and theirs was a bit of a thicker style than I normally prefer. However, it was extremely crispy and flakey. Just about the most perfect representation of this style of breading I've ever had. I won't say it's the best fried chicken I've ever had, but it's the best of this particular style for sure. I really enjoyed the cooked sweet plantain and red beans and rice sides. They were both excellent. Not many restaurants in the area seem to have horchata, but I'm happy to report that they do here and it's very good. I also tried one bite of my friend's carne asada and it was very well seasoned. It tasted different from what I'm used to from a typical carne asada at a mexican restaurant. All in all I'm very pleased with the visit and I would definitely eat there again.
Simple, clean, pleasant, delicious, and reasonably priced! I felt like be involved to a home-made meal.
The food was fantastic! First time trying Nicaraguan food. It was wonderful. Plan to return!?
We loved our lunch of two appetizers from @fritanganica.stl!Maduros con queso - sweet plantains were perfectly cooked, and this fantastic hunk of cheese was crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside.Chichiarron de pollo - crispy, deep-fried little chicken drumsticks that came with an herb sauce and a tangy, spicy citrus sauce. Oh, and fried green plantains, too! They were both so good! That being said, even though there was only one other couple in the restaurant, it took about 40 minutes to get our food. Seemed kind of long to me!
I came in for lunch and everything tasted amazing. Everyone was so nice as well. I had the carne asada and horchata for my drink. Delicious! ?
Fritanga is a great place for some traditional Nicaraguan food. The drinks are interesting and different as well as the flavors. Everything we tried we liked but to be fair we like this style of food. I think you will too and the place has received a recent facelift which I think was well done. A bit more modern and minimalist now.
Fabulous. Every bite was incredible. Definitely did not disappoint. Service was excellent.
Excellent service, friendly hosts, delicious food and drinks. Our group had steak and snapper dishes with yucca cooked many ways. A great experience!
The whole experience is amazing. The food is made with love and passion. The staff are always welcoming! The food is so fresh and tastes delicious and full of flavor.
