What a lovely evening. I don't see the slightest hint of bigotry here all night. *Huge sigh of relief* thank you all for that. The karaoke was efficient and, center stage the whole night; woot! The drinks were priced for the location in town. The largely younger crowd was fun to be around; just lovely young folk. The head bouncer was a little too chilly but, that may have been his tactical awareness of my tactical awareness. Honestly, that, nothing, was the only criticism I could muster. Thank you for a lovely night. I hope to return soon.
Cannot give few enough stars.Bouncers were horrible...both of them. They wouldn't accept a student visa, SSC, or PASSPORT. Our intern from Paraguay wasn't allowed in because of a U.S. only policy. Our party of 20 had to leave the completely empty bar to go elsewhere. itap and Molly's got our business and were much friendlier. -to the bouncer who said enjoy the other place, we did.
Always passed by this place and thought it literally looks like a hole in the wall. Turns out it really is...but with karaoke. The music/singing can be fun, however I did not enjoy Carsons. First, the bartender asked for our cards to start a tab, but she didn't say there was a minimum. Maybe this is my own fault for not considering if there was a minimum, but we told her it was our first time there...so she could have given us some forewarning. Second, the (womens) bathroom is very poorly taken care of. Third, when we wanted to cash out and leave, not only did we run into the card minimum issue, but the bartender gave me some other lady's card. I was freaking out that she gave mine to someone else as well. HIGH RISK. I don't want someone stealing my card or my card's information. That was the final straw for me. Plus their drinks are way over priced. There are plenty of other places in Soulard that are priced fairly, maintain their place better, and treat you more kindly. Would not return or recommend to others.
Went out for a friend's last night in the states. Would not take a driver's license from Canada. Normally this wouldn't have bothered me because yes it's their jobs. However, their attitude not only towards the females in our group but also the rude and ignorant remarks topped it off. Took our party of 6 elsewhere. Amazing Molly's and PBR could take it.
There’s almost always an issue whenever I go here. On one occasion I was told I couldn’t stand under the awning when it was raining. The bouncers are incredibly rude as well. They would not let our friend in with his Canadian ID. When our friend told the bouncer he’s Canadian, the bouncer replied “I know, I can read.” And continued to give attitude. I’ve also encountered a few rude bartenders as well. Not all, but a few.
Rude staff, my friend was treated poorly and overcharged. Normally in this situation we would be able to talk to the staff and figure it out however this wasn’t the case and no solution was reached. Very disappointed
Blonde Bartender w massive chip on shoulder claimed that my friend spilled a drink on her when she elbowed her in the back and kicked her out of the bar for absolutely no reason when we go there on a regular basis to sing.
A lot of people are treated poorly by staff. I noticed the positive reviews say great drinks etc and that just can’t be true they are literally the most expensive well drinks in soulard and the weakest. On top of that it comes from someone with a horrible attitude.
Place is nice and clean barmaid are wonderful food is good . Only reason 4 stars here is drinks are a little pricey for the neighborhood
The bartenders and door staff were extremely unprofessional in their behavior. The bartenders acted like they were doing us a great service by accepting our money for drinks and the door guy “did us a favor” by allowing my girlfriend in after she showed her Canadian passport… where she is 25. He questioned why I was waiting for her at the door as he almost kicked her out for being Canadian. Terrible service from the entire staff
