If I had to choose only one restaurant in St. Louis to eat at for the rest of my life, this would be it. The food is indescribably delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant. My personal favorite is the Three Cheese Tiropita, but I recommend trying EVERYTHING! My family and friends have yet to be disappointed.
Really it’s all good.
If I leave a one star review it's because something really really bad. My partner and I ate here last summer. It was about an hour before closing. There was only one large group in the restaurant and they appeared to be friends / family of the owners. Since it was so late, we only ordered sandwiches so as not to be inconsiderate to the cook staff. Iy took a very long time to get our food. We both were able to overlook that fact since the food tasted very good. However, about 4 hours later, my partner and I were both violently ill. Since neither of us had eaten or drank anything prior to or after eating the food and both of us were healthy before and after getting sick, we can only surmise it was the food that made us vomit. I normally give places a second chance but in this case, I will not be back. Take from this review what you will.
Cafe Nova is one of my favorite restaurants, both for lunch and dinner. Everything I've had here is consistently delicious, regardless of whether I'm dining in or doing carry out. Some personal highlights include their hummus and pita, Greek salad, Nova gyro, tuna panini, and grilled shrimp plate; they also make some of my favorite French fries in the city, and the frappe is a real treat. The new patio is spacious and well thought out with plenty of shade. My only note is that dining in is a very relaxed, leisurely experience. If you're looking for a quick in-and-out meal, I'd recommend ordering carry out here rather than dining in.
I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food and I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. The spanakopita is phenomenal. The Greek chicken soup with star shaped pasta is delicious and generous. Thankfully they know how to dress a salad where it is not drenched. Grandma is in the kitchen cooking and she is authentic Greek! ❤️
We came to St. Louis for a mini vacation. We decided to eat at a DDD location and were disappointed. Then ate at a traditional St. Louis pizza place and we're disappointed. Finally, my husband stumbled upon this gem. Cafe Nova was exceptionally fresh, flavorful, big portions, lovely staff and great prices. Thank you for an amazing lunch & top notch service. Such a delight!
Absolutely Fabulous, the food and the service are indeed five star quality. The salmon special was divine and the Lemon Drop Martini exquisitely prepared. We will return again and again.
We shared the Mediterranean appetizer platter and, my desire for gyro meat satisfied, I decided to have the ribs and sweet potato fries for my main course. Excellent! Somehow different from the standard BBQ-place ribs, but not outlandishly so.
The atmosphere is so cozy and warm I almost don’t want to share a review! But, I want everyone to enjoy this place just as much as I did.Definitely a place to relax and eat good food. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful! The house salad dressing is amazing and portions are great for sharing or to enjoy all by yourself!I enjoyed the grill chicken platter, the veggies and chicken was so good! I’m not really into rice but if you are you will be happy because the portion is a lot!My date, a vegan had some pretty good options! He introduced me to the spicy samosas and if you love yummy comfort carbs, you must try them! His falafel was huge with lots of veggies! The servers were nice and attentive and could have kept the water refills flowing a bit more but other than that this place is fantastic!Cute spot! Give it a go!
Fabulous neighborhood place with delicious authentic menu and generous portions! Spanakopita was tops!! Very friendly and attentive staff as well
