I didn't go in C& K my girlfriend went in C&K . Ha this woman is off the chain she must have the C&K Barbecue sauce or it would be hard for her to operate with her meat that she is Qing . So when she came back to the car she had a bottle of sauce for me as well . I got tickle she can't Help it over board Ms. Lady well she is a good friend so I'm not losing anything, but the sauce was good yum, but I have other sauces I use as well so I just added that sauce with it an yah that did add a good punch I will admit yummy. That is my saying because I didn't go in the restaurant.☺️
Each time I go the food is outstanding. For those that prefer there is patio dining. However there are no servers. You must order your then take it outside. It is worth it.
Although C&K has been a long standing staple of the St. Louis community, it's quality of service has somewhat depleted. I do however appreciate the evolution of they're menu...Not all of us eat pork...The additions such as the Turkey tips and ribs as well as the vegan dishes gives the customers options that a lot of BBQ joints don't have or even offer. That being said maybe I am just reminiscing my youth, but I remember that the taste was very good...now I have to be honest and say it's just okay... but please don't take my word for it, try it out for yourself.
The hot link with potato salad was so hard! It's not the same as before. Allow them to boil and get tender. It's like they took it out the pack sliced it, spread some potato salad and sauce on it and served it.
I'm so disappointed. I send my wife to Reds bbq and she comes back with this. I don't like bbq sauce on my meat it hides the flavor of the meat, with that being said they don't sell bbq with out sauce on the meat (which the sauce is too sweet) that's why you should offer the choice of sauce on the sude. The potato salad was not good at all.
I haven't been to C and K since they were on the corner of Newstead and Clarence I believe, about 30 years ago. I bought a combo sandwich which was half tip and half snoot. The sauce tasted the same and that was good, but the rib tips were tough and all of it was cold. I buy combo sandwiches most time at a BBQ rest. but this is the first time I ever saw on the receipt how many pieces of meat you will get. The receipt said i would get 3 pieces snoot and three pieces of rib tips, and that is what I got for $12.00, and I had to pay for the Potatoe salad which was in the cost. Outside the door was a trash can that was stinking so bad, you got it going in and coming out, that should have made me turn around but it didn't, the food made me stay away. The sun was beaming through the dirty windows and there wasn't any air conditioning.
I haven’t been to C & K in years and years. I was looking for barbecue and decided to support a black owned business. I placed my online order at 2:50. They said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got here at 3:10. It is now 4:06 and I still haven’t gotten my food. I read some of the reviews. They said it’s worth the wait. All I can say is it had better be because I doubt I’ll ever come back. This is what happens when black owned businesses take their customers for granted. Should have gone to Sugarfire or Bandanas. AND it’s hot in here!
The food was good. I order a rib tip sandwich. I had them put the beard on the side and potato salad on the side as well! Worth the wait!
Food is good, however the consistency varies. The snoots and polish were under cooked. (tough and not tender) The staff was short so there was long wait times. Often good quality.
The food was great. I had the bbq veggie nachos and my other half had the bbq beef brisket. I ordered online and waited longer than i expected but it was worth the wait.
