When you visit Big Jay's you are in for a treat. Everything is made fresh to order the jumbo breaded shrimp ate nearly the same size as the wings. 99¢ shrimp and wings you can't beat that price or quality so please buy from a local family owned business that invest into the community.
Had some really tasty catfish lunch combos. On a whim I added a three piece chicken wing add they were perfect. Crunchy on the outside and so tender on the inside. Sweet and spicy sauce was very nice. Also the lady selling the pickles in the lobby was super nice and pickles and sweet potato pies are killer!
My food was ok. Customer Service was good. Online menu was a little confusing. You pick what you want and it shows another good item(s).
Gave this place 3 try’s. The first time was good so good i recommended them to people of they were in the area. Second time i went got the samething as the first time but only this time the taste was way different. The chicken had more grease in the container than fry’s and seasoning it tasted like it had been sitting up.. third time was today. Ordered a fish chicken and shrimp combo what a waste…my fish was soggy my shrimp were soggy like and so was the chicken…it wasn’t because it was in the bag with the heat and stem either.. it’s like they rushed and cooked it.
The shrimp is amazing! Great service made to order. Came all the way from the Southside and made it home to a nice, hot fresh order of food. I tried the chicken po_boy, not remarkable but I will definitely come back for that shrimp omg!
This is the second time ive ordered Whole Catfish and i didnt get it. The sent swi fillet which is not what i eat they didnt have okra andi selected well done crispy onion rings and the arrived soft. I paid them and door dash. The young lady told me to come get a new order. I told her im handicap thats why i used door dash she said well they dont deliver.. smh
So I was referred to this restaurant & the fish was okay the shrimp are big but the flavor of the shrimp was greasy and sweet.
Great food, catfish delicious, coleslaw not so good taste like the refrigerator. But I've always had great food otherwise from Big Jays!

Big Jays is always fresh, you may have to sit awhile but the food is worth the wait.
