A group of us ordered through grubhub. Portion sizes were very small for pasta salads and egg salads. The breading of my toasted cheese ravioli was good, but it was ALL breading. For the price I paid ($9), I received 8 pieces. If they were delicious, it may have justified the cost. Unfortunately I just paid for very expensive breading.
Grabbed sandwiches from Amighetti's one night when we were headed for the MUNY to see Chicago. Got in line for free seats and then had a little picnic in line. The sandwiches were delicious, if a little messy (thank goodness for napkins!) and I would 100% grab sandwiches from here again. I also grabbed one of their amaretto brownies and it was an excellent addition for a sweet treat. They know their stuff, that's for sure.
I ordered foos a week before my party. Very simple order. 3 (27”) sandwiches and a large salad. I prepaid. My order was picked up be somebody else and I didn’t get what I ordered. We had no time to return. The mgr or owner was rude,. A friend picked up the e try sandwich that we needed. No condiments as promised,. One sandwich was soggy. Other two were good as was salad. Not worth the cost for sure.
Ordered lasagna with meat sauce, there was no meat in the sauce at all, and the entire dish was a salt-bomb. Ordered 2 meatballs with the dish, no meatballs were included in the bag. My wife ordered chicken parm, and the chicken was tiny pre-frozen spicy chicken tenders in their canned sauce. We went by great reviews and tried it, but it's painfully obvious that the people who loves this place would also think Olive Garden is actually Italian food, too.
I would say pass on this place. Spent $50 on food that felt like fazoli quality. Tortellini was flavorless. Food was Luke warm when I tried to eat it in the car, had to go home and heat it. Lasagna was actually cold in the middle. I do not believe this food is food safe. Everything seemed microwaved.
It's been over 25 years since I've had an Amighetti's Special and it was good. I used to work downtown STL across from that Amighetti's location and we went every week for a sandwich & custard. We were driving along Manchester when I noticed the sign and decided next time we were in the area we'd stop in. The sandwich was good and staff were friendly. The counter set-up needs to be improved. Having to stand 6-8' away from the counter to order & pay was extremely difficult. It's hard enough looking up to read the menu but from that distance I couldn't. It would help to at least have a few menu's printed and taped to the wall or sectional wall in front of the counter. I would have ordered more but I couldn't read the menu. The staff were friendly but I felt they were overwhelmed with customers as staffing is still very much in short supply in restaurants. I will be back but I'll order extra tomatoes, onions, pickles & dressing. Thanks for reminding me of the good old days downtown. Miss the concrete but that was a huge location and only a couple blocks from Busch Stadium.
Loved going here in the past, but my last order was very stale. The veggie sandwich hardly had any sauce and was very dry on stale bread. The cheese raviolis and canolis were also stale and barely had any cheese. Overall, really disappointed because we loved this place.
Has always been great food. The server/front of house staff working on 2/20/22 was phenomenal. She was taking care of customers, cleaning the store, and running the register all at once and still doing a great job.
I ordered the Amighetti's special and a large lemonade. I ate in the dining room. We were all socially distanced. I enjoyed the sandwich but it needed more onions and pickles or something cause they were sliced so thinly. Next time I am ordering extra pickles snd onions cause they help make the sandwich great.
One of the worst meatball sandwiches I've ever had. The bread was super chewy, There was no cheese to speak of, the meatballs were not mixed properly so part of the meatball tasted like one thing the other meatball tasted like another and way too much a oregano.
