The customer service is on point. My food was made fast but still hot. I got fries with shrimp, crawfish and chicken on it and it was amazing. That bread pudding though was my favorite hands down I will be going back for it for sure. Go and try their food you will be very satisfied.
Let me tell you something…if you haven’t had 4 Hens, what are you waiting for?! Don’t let the picture fool you. It looks a bit messy because we been tearing into it. We had “The Big Easy”, “Fried Green Tomatoes”, and “Shrimp and Grits”.Everything was delicious. The Shrimp and Grit I was nervous about because I’m a connoisseur of sorts. It’s my favorite and I must try it everywhere and it did not disappoint. Now, what I didn’t mention is we tried the bread pudding and it had to made by the of the person sitting on the left side of God because it changed my life. Look…I HATED bread pudding before this. It was so good I had to purchase one to take home to eat with ice cream. GET THE BREAD PUDDING!! It was such a great experience. The customer service was great and super friendly. We will definitely be back! Don’t forget to GET THE BREAD PUDDING!!
So the foundry is new to Saint Louis and there are lots of places to eat. While walking around i decided to try 4 hens and I was not disappointed the customer services was top notch even tho I didnt know what I wanted the gentleman at the register talk me through the menu. The choices he picked was outstanding. I went back and thanked the young guy that was cooking and the gentleman preparing the plates. Only regret was I didn't get the shrimp and grits and another bread pudding.
My husband and I's first time to the foundry and we met Nate the Kitchen manager at 4 Hens Creole Kitchen. He shared some of his knowledge and suggested shrimp and grits and the gumbo. He had such a pleasant disposition and his suggestions were on point! Food came out fast and it was SOOO good. Very creamy and flavorful. Enough so that I am writing a rare review on google to share that we will be repeat visitors. I highly recommend both of those items in addition to the Bread pudding that I wasn't even able to try until later that evening as I just couldn't put the fork down until I was stuffed with the shrimp and grits. Thanks Nate!
Yes, this spot is a must anytime your visiting the City Foundry, as it's the best restaurant in the building. The Po Boys, Shrimp & Grits we ordered have that real creole flavor and seasoning. Dont forget to get the pudding to top it all off. Oops, I forgot about the lemonade, which is a grandslam! We will definitely be back on our next visit.
Great tasting food and hearty portions. Every order is freshly cooked to order so yes there is a slight wait. But it’s definitely worth the wait. Food is seasoned well and tasty. You definitely get the feel of New Orleans without having to be in New Orleans. Definitely will be back again.
First of all, the bread pudding was EVERYTHING - the best I ever had! I really enjoyed everything - shrimp, chicken, fried green tomatoes, and fries - and each house-made sauce (creole ranch and dirty mustard and the combination!!) added something special to the meal. I loved that it was cooked to order - everything was hot and fresh.
Been following the 4hens IG page and supporting since they touched down in STL so I decided to go have lunch for my B-Day with my Queen and my food was FINGER LICKING GOOD hands down & that Lemonade was FiRRE so We will be back ?????
I got the fries with the shrimp & crawfish. I expected whole pieces not chopped up meat pieces. No seasoning. The sauce may be better on some pasta. The green tomatoes was made in corn meal? I’ve never had it like that. But it wasn’t flavorful at all. It’s just a no all the way around.
The shrimp were FIRE!!! Nice, plump, and juicy right under some perfectly seasoned sauce. Now where it went wrong was the grits. They tasted like they were boiled in water and put onto the plate. No flavor and super loose like soup. Also had strawberry lemonade and I can pass on that too. Very underwhelming to have waited 30 minutes to get it
