Loved their chorizo egg burrito. But their steak quesadilla wasn't that good.And it's really convenient that it's next to a truck stop.
Stopped by at Love's Travel Center and nearby was this cozy Mexican restaurant that I walked to. The waiter and I believe the owners who run the restaurant were so friendly.I ordered my food and when it arrived to be served I was just wowed by the food, the presentation and above all the customer service. I enjoyed every bit of this restaurant with that homely feeling or like I was in Texas where I come from which was like home away from home.As an over-the-road Professional Trucker, when I'm back to St. Joseph, MO I will definitely stop by again for a meal.Good job and thank you for your professional hospitality?!!!
As of now 3 stars... they do not give you more then 1 basket of chips an salsa. The service seems to be slow. Getting a refill on water has been more then 10 minutes waiting. This place isnt busy at all. A total of 4 tables. Extra chips an salsa is a extra charge.. for each one. Food was ok. I dropped it to 2 stars. I have never been charged extra for more chips an salsa. Nor is it printed anywhere to advise you of the extra charges. Each one i got i was never informed there would be a charge. I been eating Mexican food for decades. This is disappointing. I had Fiesta enchilada. I give it a 6.. it was ok tasting.
We like the food and personal service. A man who might be the owner remembered me and brought me out my tie I had left on a previous visit (and I didn’t even know I’d left it). Good is good AND A great value.
This is a pretty good place. Ordered the fajita/shrimp plate and the carne asada plate. The fajita plate was served on a hot sizzling skillet. The shrimp was plump and cooked just right. And the fajita was tender and flavorful. It came with what I think is a lot of onions and bell peppers, but to each his own. The carne asada plate came with a good portion of skirt steak and was pretty good and full of flavor. It is served with rice, beans and shredded lettuce. The rice and beans were nothing to write home about. They were just blah. Ask for the green spicy salsa if you are into spicy foods. Service was excellent in this family owned restaurant.

The service was great, walking distance to the loves truck stop, full bar and the shrimp fajitas were absolutely amazing (and I'm not usually a fan of shrimp) I ordered the three meat mix fajitas.
Amazing chips and salsa. Amazing food. We travel a lot and my husband was unsure because we were the only people in there. It was 3:30 pm. Everything was fresh and great! Best salsa ever. Wish they sold it by the gallon. They should give you more chips and salsa though.
