The lunch rush appeared to pose no problems for the staff. My family was quickly seated, and within 5 minutes Ethan was there to take our order. Ethan was back with our food roughly 10 minutes later. Everything was nice and warm, and the portions were very good. Ethan came back to check on us a few more times, but never so often that it was bothersome. Overall, a pleasant experience.
I know, I know, I shouldn't expect hot food at Cracker Barrel. But wow, they had almost as many servers as patrons so it was worth a shot. Wow. I ordered the lunch portion of dumplings with a side of green beans. I was expecting two small bowls but what I got wasn't even close. I received one bowl, with a portion of chicken and dumplings staring up from beneath a lake of green beans juice deep enough to swim in and a pile of said vegetable on one end. Gross! I don't eat my food mixed like that and I'd have been ashamed to put that in front of a paying customer. Needless to say, I ate my husband's sides.
Not suggesting Cracker Barrel is always a 5-star experience, but when they're on, they're on. In my most recent visit, the food was incredible! The Southern Fried Chicken has been a solid everyday addition to the menu. I was always frustrated Cracker Barrel being a Southern restaurant didn't offer fried chicken. Ever since its been on the menu, it's my go-to. Also, the dumplings are a must, where else can you order them? The loaded casserole tots are a nice premium option. The service was excellent and the bread was great. I always enjoy a glass bottle of soda on my way out and a gaze around the country store. On a nice night sit in the rocker for a minute and close your eyes. You just might feel like you are somewhere peaceful. This place is about as good as it gets in St. Joe.
Unable to use gift card for curbside order. When app wouldn't accept gift card as payment I called. I was rudely told I needed to order in app and not call. When I explained payment issue was told I needed to come inside to order and pay. If I wanted to go inside I would not be ordering curbside delivery. Spoke with manager at length. All she wanted to do was argue. Told me it was not possible to send staff out to get gift card for payment and that order needed to be placed on app using credit card. Talked to corporate and was told that gift card issue was nationwide and other restaurants had same problem. I have never experienced this issue anywhere else. We are 2+ years into pandemic and the appearance of curbside ordering and Cracker Barrel tells me in all this time they can't fix their app to process their own gift cards? Wow!
Had great specials at descent prices. I recommend the chicken and dumplings, seasoned green beans and mashed potatoes. Yummy! Server was nice and polite. I went and browsed the fun gift shop until our food was ready. Adorable merchandise with such a wide variety and found some good prices too.
Again! 1.98oz of cooked grilled chicken in my grilled chicken salad from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. This isn’t the first time. I complained several months ago and the manager made it right. Tonight the manager (different one) offered no help at all except to say thanks for bringing it to her attention. I stopped getting these salads for a couple of months after the first incident and then decided to give them a second chance. They had been doing better and the cooked grilled chicken weighed average 3.5-4oz. I’m calling corporate tomorrow. This is absolutely unacceptable. I weigh my protein because of the diet I’m on & it’s not a low protein diet. Tomorrow nights dinner will be from Cheddars.

This was a very delicious meal and definitely worth the money. In addition to food quality the service was A1. Next time we are up this way we'll be back.
Food was good service was not, our only complaint about the food was the portion of the roast beef was very small. Other than that it was good food. The staff was slow and not attentive at all though.
