I visited the restaurant on July 4th, not realizing what day it was. My man opened his store, made some dishes for us and cut his holiday short to provide the kindest atmosphere I've ever experienced. I cannot emphasize enough how much love and respect I have for the owner.Great food, great atmosphere, but above all, dining and Rootbound means supporting a wonderful human being.

Rootbound is not just a restaurant or a Cafe, it's an experience, a vibe, a lifestyle. I'm very new to vegan cuisine and I have been so pleasantly surprised by the endless plant based food options that are helping me to embrace a new healthier lifestyle. I highly recommend the Southwest Quinoa Bowl. The grilled cheese is beyond impressive and absolutely to die for! The staff is so welcoming and friendly as well. Big Thanks to Rootbound for helping me settle into my new home. ?
the food was amazing and the staff were excellent. I had the pistachio pesto and my daughter had the mac and cheese . we'll be back for sure!
I've always loved this place but this experience was so weird and awful I don't think I'll ever order again. There was so much cbd in my smoothie it was all you could taste and it burned my mouth and throat. My driver told me they had made the wrong size and so they had to remake it... and rather than just making a second 8 oz then remade it in a random glass jar.I can't even... this place is so hit or miss it's not even worth it. All I really wanted was one of their waffles but they were out... it's literally the only thing that's consistently good.
Something tells me the reviews here are friends or paid for. This place drops the ball constantly. They are almost always out of half the stuff on the menu and the quality is all over the place. In fact if you go to the different review sites you can see that the 5 start reviews are all the same people.
Really great location in historic St. Charles. The vibe of the place is awesome. Great place to hang out, play a board game, read a book, and have a nice snack. Great option for the gluten free customer. Menu is a little limited, but not in a bad way. Offerings are unique with some of the regular cup-o-joe things as well. Worth a visit for sure.
First timer.. love the vibe!! super chill.. just a little annoyed they didn't have what I wanted.. and I had backups just for situations like this.. but they were kind..and explained why they were out.. I ordered grilled cheese soooo.. good!! and the Thinker juice, it's an acquired taste.. I won't be acquiring again lol.. and the bowl across from my plate is quinoa I tried for the first time SO ?
I took my mom here while she was in town because she's vegan and it doesn't disappoint. We had a smoothie, a juice, the pesto with zoodles and the black bean burger. Everything was fresh and delicious. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking to try fresh, made to order, homemade food. The owner is very friendly and will answer any questions. Can't wait to go back and try more on the menu.
This place is exactly what St. Charles county needed! My husband and I stopped by this Sunday afternoon for lunch and Rootbound exceeded our expectations. The Zucchini Alfredo and Tikki Masala were incredibly unique and flavorful.We especially loved the “Kindness” and “Thinker” fresh cold press juices.Grateful to have a new health conscious spot in the neighborhood!
