Came here for breakfast after church. For a Sunday mid morning on a holiday weekend the wait was only about 25 minutes. Our server( can’t remember her name) was good. Our table had the Bear’s choice( sweet cream pancakes)breakfast, biscuits & gravy, red potatoes, taco salad. The biscuits were a little hard and the gravy could have been hotter. One guest wasn’t a fan of the “sweet”cream pancakes, which the other guest thought were good! The red potatoes would have been much better if they were in smaller chunks in my opinion. Taco salad was great. Overall, decent food, good size portions and prices were not overly expensive.
love their breakfast, fish and chips etc. what is not to like Taco salad is so big but yummy. great service and value for buck.
This is my first experience at this restaurant. The restaurant has a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The food looks good and tastes fine. I was disappointed because I ordered a steak and was brought the equivalent of a hamburger. I also ordered a side of bacon (4pc) and was brought 1 slice. When I said something to the waitor he proceeded to tell me the cost per slice. I had to show him the menu to get what I originally requested. I requested scrambled eggs with American cheese, my eggs did not have cheese. I did let him know that the meal was not what I ordered, just to be sure I was not charged for a steak meal when I actually got a burger meal.I do appreciate management coming over asking to take the plate, but I do not send my food back under any circumstance. Had this been the meal I ordered, I definitely would have given 4 or 5 stars at least.
Black Bear Diner in St. Charles, Missouri is a pleasant restaurant with a unique log cabin mountain atmosphere. The theme of a black bear is presented throughout the establishment from designs on the outside of the building all the way down to the interior of the restrooms. I'm one who find the theme enjoyable and whimsical. I would certainly give it a four-star rating based just on that. But once you factor in the flavor and portion size of the food my rating soars far above five-stars. The flavor of the hamburgers is truly that of a steak. Many establishments advertise 'steak burgers' however Black Bear Diner in St. Charles fulfills this promise far and above anywhere else. We'll be back - soon!
This is our breakfast tradition when we visit my son and his wife in St. Charles. We usually have a party of 6 or more and they always do a great job. Service is good and breakfast is great!
I’m so glad I decided to try this place out! I went around 10AM on a Sunday, and the parking lot was pretty full. I was worried the service would be slow, but it wasn’t! I got seated right away and had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. It was my first time trying Eggs Benedict, and it was super good! I’ll try the California Bacon version next time. ?
Went here over the weekend for my sister's birthday (after seeing a movie at the St Charles 18). They had the full menu back which was nice. I got the biscuits and gravy with 2 hot sausage patties. It was pretty good. No wait and the wait staff was ok. A little slow to visit the table at some points (hence 4 out of 5...though I also wish they had massive cinnamon rolls instead of the bear claw ..or the cinnamon roll french toast thingy). I think the waitress was training though...so all in all a good experience and would return when I am craving some great biscuits and gravy :) As always I used the papa bear hot sauce. I'd like a grandpa bear one that packs mega heat :)
This place was on my waiting list and today I went there. The food is amazing. I went for dinner so I ordered their burgers and both of them were excellent and delicious. Looking forward to go to the brunch soon !! I would also recommend this place to my friends and family. Also Deonte took care of our table really good. Great food great service ?
the breakfast was so so fresh my waiter was great also. the portions are nice and the price is reasonable.
I will start by saying Christie is a great sever. Friendly, helpful and professional. I can not believe the prices for the amount of food. The steamed broccoli and carrots were not seasoned with some crazy spice which I appreciate a lot. Our steaks were cooked nicely. The bathrooms were clean. I hope to come back soon.
