Arrived just before 9:00 pm and was told someone would be with with us shortly. We were then greeted with I’m sorry you will have to wait until someone leaves because this section is closed. (Half of the dining floor that was clean.) I informed the potential customers coming in what the situation was, we all left. Loss of 10 customers and possibly more. I see no reason to ever return.
Ordered to-go while on the way to the movies and it was my first experience not dining in. The food came out fresh, the staff was friendly, and you can’t beat the $4 meals! I got the double steak burger with everything and they actually understood that I wanted everything (i.e., mustard, mayo, ketchup, and all the veggies). The shoestring french fries are my favorite Steak ‘n Shake staple. Would highly recommend instead of the alternative fast food chains!
I have always like eating at Steak n Shake, they have good food at great prices. However recently they stopped using plates and started putting their food in baskets. I’ve noticed since, my hamburger comes out with the bun damp and soggy. I would still recommend this chain because they do have great burgers, except when they are soggy of course.
Its been over 10 years since I visited a Steak and Shake and I was really excited seeing one that hasn't been closed. After my visit, well actually during my visit, I know understand why they are closing. The wait time was very long, tables and floors were dirty, they lost our order, service was nonexistent, fries were hard and cold, burger meat was thin and overcooked, burger was put together carelessly. The only good thing was the prices were good. My suggestion is just go to McDonald's, Sonic, or Burger King.
Eaten here multiple times and order is always good, fresh, and accurate. The entrance into the parking lot is not great and people leaving the drive thru tend to make it worse. Just be a bit more cautious when entering the lot.
The shakes didn’t come out until like 10 minutes after we got our food. The food was good after everything was fixed, but our server put our order in wrong and the bacon cheeseburger came out with no bacon on it and then by the time she actually fixed it the burger was cold. Also she tried to charge us extra for the bacon whenever the meal she had on the ticket already cost more than the one we ordered.
I chose a 4 dollar meal, their garlic burger. The price is amazing. I love garlic but this was mire powerful then a teaspoon of garlic. Not sure what exactly it was, a powder maybe mixed in. The only reason I gave a 4 is because i did not like it. But the French fries where not over salted which was great. I will try another meal there as the prices are great. I love their chili.
I love this restaurant but as you know every location is different. I have only visited in the morning on break but everytime the people are always nice and quick actually getting you the right food fast and fresh.
I really like Steak N Shake. But tonight was not the best. Twice I said un sweet tea. Was given sweet. The waitress asked if I did not ask for sweet tea to start off with. I told her no, I never ask for sweet. I order a double with No cheese (said that twice also). Yes, I got chesse.
This place has gone down hill. We was seated at a table that hadn’t been wiped down which had food and hair on it from the previous people, the menu were disgusting and had food and black stuff on them along with the ketchup bottle having some much food build up on it. The waitress was coughing in to her hand and not washing after. The cook wasn’t covering his cough at all and was messing with his phone with his gloves on and went right back to cooking. We almost got up and walked out when we seen the table and menus dirty and should have after seeing how unsanitary they are.
