Came here to The Original for Father's Day. It was good and the price is often less than fast food. The service was pretty good, though no one stands out. Of all the S&Ss in Springfield, though, we like the atmosphere here the most.
Another wonderful meal and experience at SnS! Cooper served us and did a wonderful job of making the meal an experience. Not afraid to interact or ask questions, he was willing to make it great.
Both of our orders were incorrect1 double had no veggies (let,tom & pickles were requested) plus the side salad was at first argued that it was not even on the order.Other came totally dry. (Onion & mushrooms were requested).For the okay part the food tasted fine
Fun road trip stop at a Historic Route 66 Steak and Shake. Burgers were tasty and fries were crisp.
While quite busy, the staff was on point today. We received super awesome service, the food was exactly as ordered, and tasted great! While this is the oldest and most run down steak and shake in Springfield, and in need of a remodel, the staff made all the difference!
I love steak n shake one of my favorites. I love their steak burgers and shakes. they're always delicious and sooo good ? very enjoyable. my whole meal was 8$ can't beat that McDonald's
I have never eaten at a Steak and Shake so we stopped at this one off of old Route 66. I was terribly disappointed in the cleanliness of the building, the server forgot most items and seemed a little lost. We did not even get the Shakes we ordered when we got there until we were leaving. Overall, for an iconic restaurant on a historic route this restaurant experience was not great. I know it is a burger place but there should be more pride in the building and service. I would not recommend this place.
Very affordable and delightful! Banana shake is the bomb! Decor was like stepping back in time and I enjoyed the old photos.
One server in particular, Julian always stands out from all the other servers we have had. I frequent Steak and Shake a couple of times a month. It will always be my go-to fast food place to go. I generally do not eat at fast food places. We stopped by a convenient location in Springfield on St. Louis and National, and who greets us? Julian. What a wonder person to know. Not only is he polite and courteous and knowledgeable about the menu items. He is outstanding in customer service and PR with everyone that comes into your establishment. Thank you, Julian. This time, I’ll leave my name. Jeanie, like I dream of, but don’t, you’ll have nightmares. Sandy is my sidekick when we come into the store! God bless you always. This location is usually pretty good. The service was great. The guy who helped us was very nice and patient. We went during the day on a Friday and it wasn't too busy but given it's location I bet this place can get very busy at nights and on weekends.
