Had the best birthday dinner for my grandma!! Our chef Tim was entertaining and took the extra time to cut up my sons food extra small before putting it on his plate. Our server Shelbee, was phenomenal and provide excellent service. Best hibachi in town. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun and delicious dinner!
Eleven of us went for Mother's Day and we were all pleased with our dining experience. Our server, Kimberly, and chef, Josh, were excellent and greatly attributed to our satisfaction. Kimberly was quick to refill drinks and nice enough to take photos of our family. Josh was very entertaining and efficient. My steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp appetizer was awesome! Very happy, no complaints!

Sushi was very good. We sat at the bar with moving boats that was at a time used for sushi. Because of COVID they no longer us the boats at this time. Being it was our first time at Nakato we were unaware that setting at the bar you could only get Sushi and appetizers. We were looking to get a full meal but before we understood you cant at the bar we gave up out seats at the table. It would have been a hour wait for a full meal so will need to try again at a later date now that we understand the process.
We just finished dinner. Chef Tim was our chef and omg! Such an amazing experience. He was so entertaining throughout our entire dinner. The food was delicious as well.
Hands-down best hibachi grill in Springfield Missouri. Always friendly service and wonderful chefs create a memorable atmosphere.
Great customer service and great food. The only complaint I had was the dressing on the salad, but that’s a personal preference.
My husband and I visited this location for the first time and it was a very busy night, but the wait wasn't as long as expected. After sitting down we immediately began getting served. The soup was hardly warm, the salad was not too good in my opinion the dressing was too strong and too much. We had the misfortune of sitting at a table with some very dry and unwelcoming guest. I am sure you get my drift, but our money was just as green! Our Chef for dinner was Chef Tim who made sure the other guests behavior did not make us feel uncomfortable. He was funny, attentive to the youngest dinner guest and worked hard to create a friendly atmosphere, but one end of the table displayed their displeasure with being seated at a table with me and my husband who are two black people. The rice and noodles were good, light seasoning. But when we were served the shrimp, steak and chicken the seasoning was a bit overwhelming. If you don't want a lot of the seasoning be sure to let them know. We ended up throwing away all of the shrimp, chicken and the steak because it was just too strong. The Chef was excellent but you learn by error. I hope to get a chance to revisit this location again, but not too sure I can after this unfortunate experience.
What can you say about Nakato, they are always consistent and entertaining. They were really busy being the Saturday before Valentine's day thus delaying our sushi order half-way into the meal. Sushi was really good as usual having gotten a Rainbow Roll. Service was spot on never letting my drink empty. Always a great experience.
We have celebrated many occasions at Nakato's over the years and have always enjoyed it. I have left higher reviews in the past as well. Unfortunately this time was much different. The prices have gone up quite a bit, which I understand in the current economy. What I don't understand is paying a considerable amount more and getting a considerable amount less. I've never left Nakato's hungry before this. The portions of vegetables and noodles seemed to be close to half of what it use to be. The chicken was 3-4 bites at best and my steak was as thin as a piece of bacon. The price for 4 meals and 2 orders of sushi was $130. I did not see $130 worth of food that we ate, nor do I think the quality of food was worth $130. I was very disappointed with this visit.
