The old place was better. This is just blah. I have had way better and make better. Very disappointed honestly.
We had the David's Special and as always it was excellent!! I don't even like cashew chicken but I love it here! It is so good that a friend of mine even was asked to buy some and bring it to St Louis. Yes that good!Our server had the best sense of humor, which made ordering very entertaining. We all had lots of laughs.
I've been eating Springfield Cashew Chicken for 20 years. Finally made it to the original. The sauce was good. I feel other places have imitated fairly well. What was really good here is how tender the chicken is.
WAY OVERPRICED! I spent almost $50 for take out for two people. That would be acceptable if it were edible - which none of it was! The general chicken smelled bad - like fermented or something. The taste was just as bad as the smell. We actually returned our food uneaten for a full refund as there's no way after one bite that it was passable. Staff wasn't too pleasant on the return, but it was obvious it wasn't eaten. Maybe it's just the General Chicken, cashew chicken, rice, and Rangoons that are bad? I'm not wasting any more money finding out!!
Ordered veggie fried rice, general tso’s, chicken lo mein, and crab ran goon for carry out. I thought the flavors were very good. I like a crispier/crunchier texture on the generals which is why I didn’t rate it a 5/5. Very good!
I never leave bad reviews but feel like this horrible experience warrants one. We ordered a cashew chicken and a generals chicken with egg rolls for lunch today. All of which ended up in the trash. Their chicken seemed to be of good quality however, that is where my compliments end. We paid the “meal” prices but didn’t get a drink or even an offer of one. There was no mention of “pork” in the fried rice which we don’t eat in our house. Had I known, steamed rice would have been totally acceptable. The egg rolls had a strong taste of PEANUT BUTTER (what?!) and the sauces on our entrees were very bland. They didn’t give us utensils (drive-thru) so we had to wait to eat until we made it back home and as much as I would love to give them their food back and tell them in person why I am disappointed, I can’t justify driving 20 minutes back into town while I’m still starving. If you want Chinese food in Springfield, there are far better options than Leong’s. What a waste of $25.
My mom took me here yesterday, we really liked it. We got Pad Thai and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and hot.The hostess was super nice and the whole time we were there she was friendly to every customer and cheerfully helping everyone.Our waitress was wonderful too!It's very interesting to read about the history of the restaurant as well.We really enjoyed it!
AMAZING!!!! We drive up from Branson all the time to eat here. The generals chicken is the best we have ever eaten! The almond shrimp are really good as well! You have to give this place a try. The staff is very nice as well...our server was I think John (tall dude) We will be back soon guys!
Can't believe I waited this long to check out Leong's Asian Diner! The cashew chicken was delicious...I can see why everyone always recommends this place for it! The egg rolls and the peach sake were great, too! Perfect for lunch, reasonably priced, I'll definitely be back soon.
Should come in and try Chinese new year apps and entrees!! very nice presentation, tasty and friendly service! ❤️❤️
