Cozy, intimate dining experience. The Brasare del Giorno was amazing! We loved seeing the garden on the Grey Gables property in front of the restaurant that produces some of the fresh ingredients.

A horrible experience overall. It was a busy night, but the owner should have planned accordingly. Waiting over 2 hours to even see your main course, and watching the owner argue with another table and punching the wall, was the end for me. Our food came out, I had to send the "special of the day" back because the manicotti noodles were either underdone or so overcooked that I could barely cut even with a knife. The owner's wife made an attempt to fix it, but was made even worse. Do not waste your money here. What should have been a really fun evening (my son had just graduated from MSU) turned out not so great. All we could do was chalk it up to NEVER eating there again! I usually do not post reviews, but this time I had to.

Usually the food and service is great. Tonight was my graduation and I waited 2 and a half hours for my food. The food was cold and not enjoyable. Will not be coming back.

Enjoyed our first visit on the occasion of our Son & Daughter-in-law’s Anniversary - over the top restaurant! Excellent!

My sisters graduation was tonight and we wanted to celebrate with a nice restaurant. We picked out what we thought would be a high end Italian place to dine in. The servers are nothing but incredible having to put up with the mistreatment of the man and woman who seem to be in charge. Our first warning was narcissistic comments of not taking ownership. For example, "my staff didn't stock the bar I'm sorry" and "I know you have a new server I just wanted to make sure he didn't mess up” We ended up laughing the comment off and joking about it quietly as a family. It started progressively getting worse as he yelled at one of his staff to "get the f*** out of my way" while he was entering the kitchen with dishes (we were seated right next to the kitchen doors) we still ended up staying as we had already put our order in. 2 hours later and we still had no nearing sight of our food coming out. We had plans for the night after so we decided we would pay for our drinks and appetizers and leave. Our server was very understanding and treated us with nothing but the upmost respect. It was then that the owner came out and looked at my father and said "let me show you something cool" with a smirk on his face. We assume he wanted to walk our father into the kitchen to show him how “understaff the kitchen is” and “how they only have 3 burners with a very full restaurant” My father then declined as not wanting to make a scene and go back there in his dress clothes. The owner still stayed looking at my dad. my sister then replied "no? We have just been sitting here for 2.5 hours and did not plan on it taking this long as we have plans after we would just like to pay for what we have already gotten to the table and leave" (being drinks and one appetizer) he then said "your food is being plated right now" and we said “okay that's fine we can stay" As the owner walked back into the kitchen he PUNCHED the wall that was behind where my father was sitting. We then got up as we were not going to give our business to someone who has no respect to the people who are giving his business money. As we went up to pay the woman, who we presume is his wife because the way she was defending his actions, started yelling at us saying "YOU MADE A SCENE!" (as if we had not tried whisnering to our server we just wanted our check and to leave after we paid) I was curious if anyone else had the same experience and to zero surprise there were multiple horror stories of this owner and his attitude, narcissism, and the way he treats his customers and employees. As someone who has 10+ years of experience in family owned restaurant establishment I know how hard at times a busy restaurant can be, but that does not give someone the right to treat not only his customers but his employees with disrespect. If you are looking for a Dicks Last Resort atmosphere this is the place to go. If you are an employee here, my sympathy goes out to you, hopefully you aren't an employee for much longer! You would probably have a better time eating at a McDonalds than here.

Wow if you are debating dining at Gilardis stop just go. The food was absolutely delicious. The Cesar salad was the best I've ever had in my life. I got the lamb shank which I only get at a authentic Italian restaurant and it was absolutely incredible I savored every bite the polenta and sauce it was in was so perfectly done. My fiance got the filet and he said it was so good and he is extremely picky with his steak lol. Also you have to get the Tiramisu!!! James the owner was so attentive and explained the menu and treated us like friends and it was such a pleasure speaking with him. The ambiance was perfectly lit and very intimate and romantic. We can't wait to come back to Springfield to eat again. Thank you Gilardi's!

Waiter was great. Love the warm, cozy atmosphere. Very relaxing. Love the lamb but bring you appetite. Taramisu was wonderful. Just loved this place. Perfect for any romantic dinner.

All the food is always amazing but I definitely recommend adding prawns to whatever you get. OMG This place never disappoints with food, atmosphere or service. Fabulous date night!

My husband and I had dinner last night here, first time, had not heard of it til just a week ago, he made reservation. OMG! Nice sized salads, not too big or small, yummy bread, and the butter was actually spreadable. We both had lamb shanks, incredible! Meat just fell off the bone, gravy super, mashed potatoes and veggies great, just could have used a little more veggies. For a special night we would definitely go there again!

This was a visit based on a recommendation. My husband and I just moved to town and wanted to try something new to us. This did not disappoint. The food was great starting with the Caesar salad- I could have been happy with just that! He had the lamb shank and I had a dish with penne in marinara based sauce with wine white and artichokes. It was a large portion. The wine was good, the service was great and the atmosphere was good and we'll be back!!
