I went there to try the deep fried green olives! I was not disappointed. They were really good! I do wish that they had more of a dinner type menu also. Our waitress was nice also!
had a great time. good burgers and music.
Service was fantastic, hence the 3 star. Food on the other hand.....I've eaten here 3 times and will not eat here again.Fun for drinks, for a quick meeting after work.
We will never be back here… Had a terrible experience & privately wrote to avoid a bad review on their page the first time… We gave it one last try last night with family and will never return again. Service was absolutely terrible. Food took over an hour to come out. It wasn’t busy at all. App came with our meal (an hour after ordering). Two people NEVER got their food at our table. Server came back to ask once we were all close to being done eating. Never came back for refills. Took 20+ minutes to get our checks back, had to go up to the bar. It was worse than the first bad experience and definitely wont make the mistake to come a third time.
Never received my food order. Was never asked if I wanted a drink refill. After an hour, waiter did finally ask what I ordered. What?!?! Nope. Left. Thanks for absolutely nothing. will not return. BTW, the waiter was asked on 2 occasions how much longer for food. Also, my husband was 3/4 finished with his meal before waiter asked what I ordered!!!
Wow. Wife and myself. $90Bill said beer $6.50 x 2 = $15.00.Sandwich with an upcharge of $4 for onion rings, although onion rings is standard side.Add $1 per beer no matter what they say."Menu" does have upcharges on it. Bartender, said sorry and could not explain any of the extra charges. Have been many other times. Not any more. They have lost a customer.
Great food!! Great place especially when Art Bentley is there!!
First I must say that my review is based on a year of visits. I have become somewhat of a "regular" here and honestly that only happens the establishments consistently meet my top 3 "wants" in a possible place that I become a "regular". 1. Atmosphere - First, any place that has outdoor seating is going to get an initial visit from me. They have an outdoor seating area that expands when the weather is nice but they also can contract it to only the "covered" portion when it's raining. The only thing missing from the outside is music and maybe a tv (the tv isn't necessary but the music is absolutely needed). They do have a TouchTunes jukebox where you can play your own music selections through an app. This is great. When you walk in you will find a "high bar" with a television behind it. they also offer Keno so they have a Keno tv behind the bar as well. This place has an incredibly comfortable, cozy, and inviting atmosphere. It's easy to "pull up, and hang out" They also have darts, and upstairs (if you reserve it for a party) they have a pool table. I would rate Galloway Station as one of the best "local bar and grill" atmosphere's in town. 2. Service - I want to preface this with the realization that the "post-Covid" workforce is very depleted so there are times that Galloway Station, like everyone else, is short-handed. That being said, they have some of the sweetest and most hardworking servers, bartenders, and management in town. I have been in the service industry for more than 30 years and I am very observant when it comes to customer service; Galloway Station has some of the best. At any time throughout your visit, you might see the owner going around and chatting with customers. If there is a problem they are happy to resolve it. If there is a complaint, they are quick to respond in humility and grace. 3. Food - As you can see, I am an atmosphere first, service second and food third when it comes to me looking for a place that I call "my place in my town". but let me tell you they are highly underestimated when it comes to their menu. I am not a "burger guy" but honestly I'm not sure that I've had a better burger in Springfield. Honestly. When it comes to their sides like German-potato salad or apple cole slow, they use a "family recipe' and they are great. My "staple" menu item is the blackened chicken wrap with the coleslaw. My wife gets the Gyro (it's perfectly made and very tasty). So over the past year, Galloway Station has not only found a place in my stomach but they have found a place in my heart. I know that they say, that they are "Springfield's best bar and grill on the southside" but I suggest they just go with "Springfield's best bar and grill."
Went to Galloway Station on a busy Springfield weekend. We had been there a few times before. My review will be a compilation of the visits.First 2 visits were fine, the 3rd was disappointing. The good-Been there with live music and open mic night, very enjoyable. They have several flavors of Moscow Mules, I had the coconut, very good!Philly Cheesesteak is great.Homemade chips are crispy and very good.Burgers are very tasty.Reuben rolls were excellent!!Slaw was good.Gyro wrap was good.Waitress was helpful at picking mixed drinks.Bacon turkey club was huge and very tasty.Fun place, decent atmosphere. The bad-Nachos had way too many onion and very little cheese sauce, they were dry.Never got the au jus with the Philly sandwiches as menu advertised. It was a very busy weekend and we had 8, but the food took an hour, very slow.Warm German potato salad- the potatoes were under cooked.Drink refills were so slow we had to go to the bar for drinks and refills. They were out of pretzel buns.Due to the fact we had a bigger party and it was a busy (several events in Springfield) weekend, we have had better service in past visits and maybe they were short handed like most places I will give 4 stars. The only negative on the list from the first 2 visits is the nachos. Overall, we enjoy Galloway station and I will return. I will update my review with later visit experiences.
We tried Galloway Station for the first time tonight. It was Irish Monday, they had great specials on food and drinks, as well as a lovely Irish band. We ordered the Emi's Greek Village which I highly recommend, as well as a Reuben, a Gyro, and the Ragun-Cajun burger. I loved the tzatziki sauce on the gyro. It was an unexpected flavor bomb on top of tender lamb and beef with crispy edges in a blanket of a soft, warm pita. The burger was fantastic and the house made fries and chips were addicting! We loved the ambience, it was laid back and not to pretentious. Staff were friendly and the service was impeccable! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great date night.
