This place beats all the fast food chains, and pub food around the area. It was nice to take my folks to a restaurant with this quality. I would recommend it and then heading over the little café across the street.
Best food I’ve ever had in springfield by far. Margarita is perfect, water was good, food was delicious.. This is my new favorite spot for sure
We stopped in on our way through after a weekend getaway. It was easily the best meal we had the entire trip. The place is comfortable and nice inside. The views from the windows are a quiet but beautiful town. The staff was amazing and somehow the food was better. Get something with the civil sauce and you will crave knowing how to make it on your own at home.
Went to the Civil kitchen after we stopped at a Book sale in Springfield. The decor is pretty cool. The service was fantastic. The food is amazing. We tried the whipped feta and the Crackbread as our appetizers. The whipped feta was delicious. The beet salad was really good and flavorful. The pork belly tacos were great. I would definitely eat here again if I ever return to Missouri. They had flavor infused vodkas, which would probably make for a bomb Bloody Mary. But we tried the beer flights instead. They have a good selection of beers.
Let me start by saying we had quite the wait. Now this place is downtown where there is no good parking available. We walked around, one of us has some pretty bad injuries. So that made it really hard to get around.We were shown to our table, and our waitress brought us water immediately. She was very thoughtful, mindful, considerate and empathetic.I ordered the salmon it was 22.00, it's online price said 18.00. my husband ordered the medallions, they were 23.00. He ordered his med rare, and had to have them sent back. The second set were only a tad better.They comped us desert, which the ice cream was yummy. My salmon was tender, the broccoli had flavor and the yellow potatoes had Every flavor. We were offered another go with the medallions, but politely passed. He was Very hungry at this point. I shared my veggies and potatoes with him. Our waitress was so sweet and nice. Another member of the wait team apologized for the meat mishaps. If your hungry and want a portion for the price, I would re think civil. The place is super neat to look at, they have it decorated wonderfully. The bathroom was super clean and they had very interesting tile on the walls. I liked it quite a bit.God bless
I am sending this review to compliment the amazing staff that accommodated us, the wedding party of 20, on 5/13/2022. Our hottest was Lilly and our waitress Kylie.These specific ladies went above and beyond to get our party a table together, get our food and drinks out, and all while being so pleasant. It was such a great experience to have the staff be so welcoming to such a large party. We understand it can be stressful and a lot to handle but they didn't skip a beat!Our entire party got exactly what we all ordered. Not a single drink, plate, or sauce was wrong or missed. It was the best service we have had while in a large group.We hope these ladies get the recognition they deserve for being 5 star employees!Thank you so much for everything!-Wedding Party 5/13/2022
The food and atmosphere is good, the staff are great. My only major issue is that it's not the most vegetarian friendly place, the option to use impossible patties is present on their burgers but its a bit of an oversight to include bacon on so many of them, so I have to remove something on top of being charged 3 dollars more. (16.50$ for one modest burger and fry.)
Stopped here while visiting family and enjoyed a delicious lunch. I ordered the chicken and donuts and it was like getting dinner and dessert all in one sitting. Very good.
Food was very well prepared and we arrived close to midnight. Definitely will recommend!
Great food! Amazing service! Top of the line! Mac and cheese was delicious, even your kids will love it. Hamburger was well cooked and the buns were fresh. We sat at the bar and our drinks never got empty, and never could get empty. Well done. My first drink even had some pepper accidentally in it and the bartender noticed and got me a new one. Excellent all around. Also I know that they close at 9, but in the summer it's 10.
