Hey friends. Springfield has some great BBQ options to choose from and locals know the worthy places you go when you need your fix! Though the neighboring champions at Whole Hog have more bbq sauces just down the road and superior sides like their signature potato salad and burnt end cheesy corn; Buckinghams is better known for their meat smoking game. This is an area that Rib Crib falls short and Whole Hog could do better with. In my opinion, Buckinghams on Campbell is the best in town for there dedication to a large portion product every time you visit that is consistently delicious and smoky. It is good quality meat. They also use good wood in the slow smoking process and you will taste the difference. Trust a local. We even like to smoke turkeys here during holiday gatherings, as they will do it for you. It is delicious. That being said, just as good as the food will be their customer service is equally and reliably disappointing. The girls working the window are rude, rarely smiling and sound deeply annoyed with you as you order. It is a consistent experience to have them complain when they cannot hear you at their speaker. It probably needs rewiring as it seems to cut out but they will tell you it is your fault for not pulling up enough in your vehicle. We laugh of course because the speaker is very close to your window and it is difficult to avoid. I usually tip, but am not sure why as I often leave a bit upset with their cold treatment and am not sure they appreciate it. It could be a training issue or the younger workers have lacking people skills, but my wife and I laugh how bad it is and we joke why we come back. The answer of course is the food is good and we will put up with horrible customer service for the best BBQ meal in town. Think of that Seinfeld episode about the Soup Nazi. Beyond the great meats, they also have great home cut fries, bbq beans, coke slaw and Mac and cheese. Their mild bbq sauce is nicely flavored with sweet smokiness and the hotter version alright also if you like a little burn. Give it a try. Just know going in they are rude and it is worth it if you want good BBQ. We just put up with it and so should you.
The Brisket is fantastic and the hand cut fries are better than anything ever poured out of a frozen bag. Portions are more than generous and you get way more than you pay for both in quantity and quality. We will make the hour and a half drive again just to eat here.

This is my go to place for great barbecue. I love everything they make! The burnt-end salad with their horseradish dressing is the best! But I will say I've never had a bad meal there.On top of that the staff is excellent, friendly, professional, caring and considerate. My favorite is Edward - Big Ed - right there at the window. He's always got a smile and willing to share a word or two.
First time at Buckingham's for dinner and the service / food was outstanding! We had 2 combo plates with ham, pulled pork, brisket and link sausages. If you like horseradish, Buckingham's makes their own and it really is the best. Great job - we will be back.

Fall off the bone ribs, generous portions of smoked brisket, decadent sweet potato fries and the pit beans were succulent with chunks of meat throughout. Super friendly hosts. I found my go to BBQ place. I hope you find it too. Put it on your bucket list.
Have heard a lot about this restaurant. The food was good but not great. The ribs were a little dry and the Turkey didn't have very much smoke. Great potato salad. Very friendly service. I will give it another try in the future.

Amazing food. Some of the best bbq I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve never eaten so fast in my life because the food was that good!!
