In Springfield, MO there is not a SINGLE restaurant that serves “Xiaolongbao” or “soup dumplings” - sadly! However the steamed dumplings here at Bao Bao are about the closest thing to it!The don’t have the “soup” factor but if you’re craving that doughy, pork deliciousness these will cure you!The restaurant is small and cozy but the staff is super friendly, they have other food as well but I go here to get my steamed dumpling fix and if you’re in the area you’d probably like it too!Definitely give this place a try!
Amazing! Delicious, best Chinese food I've had in the area, everything is seasoned so well. Rice is cooked perfect. So are the vegetables. Can't find food this good since SD,CA
Love trying new places and Bao Bao didn't disappoint!Bourbon beef, with onion, mushroom, hint of spiceHappy Family, always a favorite of mine, meat and veggie variety all-in-oneSpringfield style Cashew Chicken - darker brown gravyYummy fried ricePot stickers with a slightly sweet sauceEgg drop soup (not pictured) with spaghetti-thin wonton. Wish I had taken a picture. The broth was just salty enough. The eggs were thinly drizzled into the soup and the thin wontons didn't overpower.Super casual, good price point and the staff/family were very friendly.Would love to eat there again!
Great food. Great prices.
As a vegetarian it's hard to find good Chinese options. This was the best prepared sweet &sour food tofu I've ever had. Most places just throw the sauce on there, Bao Bao took the time to batter& fry tofu before adding the sauce. It was delightful! Can't wait to go back & try more tofu dishes!
My daughter and I went there and I had the Shrimp egg foo young which was more like a Chinese omelet, no bean sprouts. Flavor was good but the night and next morning my daughter and I were sick.
The portions were incredibly small (see picture of plate at home) for paying almost $9 for a meal. Don’t come here hungry!
Highly recommend the egg drop soup ? You can definitely tell it is made in house. It is so light and airy with the perfect texture. The owners are from Vietnam and give a great authentic spin.Do you like a Cherry limeade without all the calories???? Try the Cherry ? Lime soda water, super yummy! Everything else was good for the price. We had the Szechuan Chicken “traditional style” had amazing bites of fresh ginger which I love!We had the Egg Foo Young with Chicken which was good, next time I would do sauce on the side so it stays crispy. The Hot & Sour Soup was good, but I am spoiled to the flavor of Leong’s Asian Dinner Hot & Sour Soup, but it was still much better than your standard run of the mill Chinese places here in Springfield. We had the Salt & Pepper Jalapeño Pork and my wife loved it. I thought the breading was a little thick, but for the price of only $9.95 how can I complain??? The crab Rangoon was what you would expect and the potstickers were super delicious. We wanted the duck but they were out tonight, I get that because it is a specialty dish. Can’t wait to go back again and try it.They also do steamed buns from time to time so it is hit and miss. I will keep checking! All in all I would recommend trying this little spot out. They do not serve any type of alcohol, but I imagined they would let you bring in your own beer or wine.My highest recommendation…….get the “Egg Drop Soup”!!!!
Ordered food tonight. Asked for no onions or bamboo in my dish, there was nothing said indicating that was an issue.Pick my food up and get home and the meal is full of onions and bamboo. Call and ask about it to be told it that it's all cooked together. Why was that not said when I ordered?!
Very good. It had been a while since I ate here. Went with the family. Small place. Excellent Egg Drop and Hot and Sour Soup. Salt and pepper shrimp were great. Biggest surprise was the Squid and Shrimp. We got an extra one to go. Very good!
