I’m traveling the Country so I look forward to local favorites especially where ever I can eat somewhat healthy. This place doesn’t look like much on the outside but was definitely a great choice. Grilled chicken breast & veggies. A large portion of each and my waitress was very pleasant & helpful. Definitely give it a try.
Wanted liver and onions but the waitress warned me that it wouldn't be good cause the cook on duty would cook it too long and it'd be like rubber. Thank you for the warning!Catfish was good. Green beans wasn't good at all. Cottage cheese was big chunks. Not good. So just ate the catfish. So will go back for catfish.
So this place looks kinda iffy on the outside but I'm so glad this place was recommended while I was visiting Springfield MO. Food portions are very generous that I had enough for dinner. Only thing is if you get a salad ask for the dressing on the side because they're also very generous with the dressing. Will definitely stop again when I'm in town.
An excellent diner! The best chicken fried steak we've had in a long time. I had the ham and beans with cornbread, very tasty, especially the cornbread. The restaurant was clean, the waitresses were attentive and friendly. I will come again.
Burger was good. The lady upfront was nice. Something was wrong with my green beans though. What was the milky substance in the bottom of the cup and they tasted funny. They were either old and frost bitten or contaminated. I wondered if the family was racist but then the washout guy is foreign. So idk. Maybe he doesn't eat there. He's a friendly older male. The whole atmosphere has a creepy vibe. The truck parking area was cluttered and crowded. I had to snake my truck to the back to avoid hitting anything. It was fast and the older lady was friendly.
OH MY, if you are hungry this the place to go!! Huge portions and great tasting food. A traditional hole in the wall but we'll worth the visit. This picture reflects what is left after we ate!
Family run business with great burgers, shrimp, steak fries and coconut cream pie. The family is so friendly. When my bestie has won the state fair with her pies and says it's delicious, you know it's gotta be good. Check this place out.
Very good food and sweet as can be waitress. Perfect small town feel with portions worth the cost. 4 adults ate for around 60 bucks! And we have leftover. It's how restraints were 30 or 35 years ago. Well worth a try.
Just had breakfast there this morning and it was great. They gave a lot and the prices were very reasonable. I had the breakfast feast for $8.95 and not only shared the meat with my wife, also brought some home along with some hash browns. Will definitely return if in the area.
Springfield’s best kept breakfast secret!!! The portions are HUGE. My 6’8 boyfriend and I could have split one meal and might have had leftover. Service is good, fast, and the food tastes great, coffee is always hot. If you’re looking for good food, classic cartoons, and a grandma’s house feel, this is the place for you.
