If I could give zero stars I would.The place looked run down, and really dirty. The server looked unkept. And the food…. The food was horrible. I couldn’t eat it. I tried. But after the second bit of chicken that felt rubbery/ mushy I just couldn’t. They had the music so loud we could barely hear each other talk, and the guy that was screaming about his money was even louder than the music. And the server was extremely rude. Had the nerve to say I didn’t look happy… well b. You wouldn’t either if you experienced what we did.
I had to post an honest review here about my dinner to-go order of Beef Mongolian menu. I was stunned to find very little beef in it with waay to many (wait for it...cooked square potatoes) in it along with a couple orange thin bell pepper slices. That was it. No lie.Now I have eaten at many Chinese Restaurants that serve & have make-it-yourself Mongolian Bars w/beef, chicken & shrimp to choose from. My main problem besides potatoes not belonging in this Mongolian dish, but vegetables are the main part of this dish with or without meat and/or shrimp, then sauces for taste & spice. No taste but a little sweet, which I prefer spicy. A couple thin slices of bell pepper as the only veggie, doesn't hack it & have never until this dish have I seen any potatoes in. Filler & cheap & gives appearance of beef with the brown sweetish sauce, no choice of sauces.Very disappointed in this dinner.Lynette DaveyMay 2022
Ordered general chicken tonight in the drive through. Got home and there was no sauce in the chicken it was dry and taste bad. The last time I ordered general chicken in the drive through they gave me orange chicken. Didn’t know until I got home . Would not recommend eating there.
My husband and I frequent 5 Spice quite often! My husband is gluten free and Janelle has been extremely helpful with suggesting entrees he can enjoy. The mango chicken with gluten free fried rice is his favorite and it’s so good that I order it for myself as well! He has never had a bad reaction, the staff is always friendly and the food is always spot on! Highly recommend stopping here!!
The quality of the food has deteriorated dramatically, smaller servings and still with a large hike in price. Have tried Mango chicken three times in last few months, and every time the quality has plummeted. This has been my go to for many years and now its tasteless, poor quality chicken and sauce is never the same. Definitely not worth the price or the trip.
This place used to be fantastic. We hadn't been in a while, probably pre-pandemic. Went the other day and it has completely changed. The food was flavorless and poor quality, the service was terrible, and the restaurant itself has seen better days. It has become run down and was filthy. Most of the table had dirty dishes on them, the booths are falling apart, just everything in a state of disrepair. Unbelievable that it has fallen so fast.
I was just there and asked the man 3 times that he made sure to give me fried rice instead of white rice, and he assured me it was fried rice. I get home its white rice and the lettuce from the salad is nasty looking. It has a brown color on the edges of the lettuce. Very disappointed as I love the food but im mad I don't even want to eat this now
Ate here for lunch. Ordered the Mongolian beef without peppers and onions and the Cashew chicken with the sauce on the side. Everything was delicious and FULL of flavor. Would also definitely recommend the crab rangoons. Service was decent, could have been better. But overall still deserve 5 stars.
The waitress was good but the food was very mixed in our group. The others liked their food but That's sweet-and-sour soup had no sour note just flat.. And the shrimp with broccoli I realized when I got home was Was old food and then microwaved. The Chinese donuts were not Chinese it was more like Bread dough fried.. The waitress said they had brought in a chef from another restaurant to help them;but it still doesn't seem to be working.
5 spice has the best cashew chicken in town next to Leongs! I do wish they gave more sauce with their Togo orders. Tastes great, always my first choice when coming to Springfield also, they’re open on Sundays!!!
