Sam's Southern Eatery is worth a stop! I got their chicken kabobs with humus and they were great! The humus is served on the side as is the hot fresh pita. The kabobs were hot off the grill and spiced wonderfully! The young men staffing the place to great careers of me.I might try their Southern food next time or I might just stick with Mediterranean.
This place screams "family-owned franchise"- fried Southern standards served alongside a number of Mediterranean staples. While I didn't get a chance to try the gyros, the shrimp po'boy was tasty- a large sandwich with sides for ten bucks is getting harder to find these days, but they still have it here. The young man waiting tables was a little unsure of himself at first but did a great job.
My family and I ate here and even the picky eaters were impressed. My wife is constantlycomplaining about food lacking in flavor and she was very happy with the the here. This place is cheaper than a lot of other restaurants and has way better, home-cooked meals and large portions. We got catfish, gumbo, fries, hushpuppies, cheesecake, and our children got chicken strips. It was all delicious and we'll be ready to try more from the menu the next time we're in the area. The gumbo samples were so nice. We also really appreciated the service.. the young man who served us was very polite, respectful, friendly and helpful.
Food was really good! The Philly Cheesesteak was the closets we found to a cheesesteak from Philly. Gumbo was really good. There’s a spice to the hush puppies and macaroni and cheese. We will be back again.
Have done fried oysters twice. Good quality. Friendly service. They have an ancillary Mediterranean menu which I'll try next time. Good but basic sides. I don't give out five stars easily but my hesitation in staying at four is that I haven't tried enough different things. I'll be back
Omg! Food is delicious. Service is awesome! Love the blend of Southern fare and Middle Eastern Cuisine. Restaurant is clean and comfortable.
My husband went in to order take out for us. Asked how the gumbo was, and he was given a sample by the owner. We ordered a couple of the seafood combos and crab cakes. Delicious!! Very nice people working there.
My husband and I decided to give this place a second chance, but this will be our last. My husband ordered a double burger and lemon pepper wings. The patty was very dry and the wings were definitely not lemon pepper wings. They were overcooked and there was seasoning sprinkled on one side of the wings. They were horrible!! I had a shrimp po boy and one piece of fish. The po boy was just ok. Nothing special about it. The fish was rubbery and tasted odd. The Mac n Cheese was just disgusting! Being from the south, I wouldn’t call this place a true “SOUTHERN” restaurant. It’s definitely a Mediterranean restaurant with an attempt to add a southern twist. I do recommend the gumbo. We were offered a sample of gumbo while we waited for our food and it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t amazing, but I recommend it to try. I will also add that the cashier Patty was really nice and helpful.

The Gumbo here is the absolute best! The Philly Cheesesteak is quite tasty as well. I'm looking forward to trying the many other dishes on their menu. I highly recommend this family run business. They are very friendly and polite.
