One of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in all of Kansas City area. Found in Liberty Square, La Costa Mexicana has the proper music of Latin countries, candy and of course the food. They even have a dip so damn yummy for the chips that you will order it every time you visit (chorizo dip). Chorizo dip has melted cheese and shredded chorizo meat with a hint of chipotle on it. Amazing. It makes a great dip for the salsa but I pour it on my burrito for a satisfying taste. So far I have gone twice, my wife and daughter have gone more and we will continue to go. The service is amazing. Very friendly waiters/mezeros. The atmosphere is very Mexican feel with a beautiful architecture of the building they are located in. It's a must go if you like/love Mexican food.

We’ve started going weekly. I used to try different things each visit but have fallen in love with the soup. Can’t bring myself to get anything else now. But everything I’ve had has been very good. Margaritas are awesome. Staff is very friendly. Can’t find anything to complain about.

Great food and service. Love their salsa and pricing is reasonable. It came recommended and did not disappoint. I’ll be back!

This is by far one of my favorites. And I’ve had some good Mexican across the southern states. Good people good service. Definitely a 5 star ⭐️ hidden gem ?.

This restaurant is pretty good. I have had worse Mexican food, but I have definitely had better. The service was good but I think the employees could have been more friendly. I got #25 on the combination dinners which had a beef burrito, cheese enchilada and a deep-fried beef taco and it was all delicious. The salsa, chips, and guacamole were amazing as well. I was just not very impressed by the employees. I will also say that I loved the atmosphere.

Had a great first visit to La Costa. Staff was friendly food was good so our family traveled across north Kansas City for hopefully the same experience. Unfortunately we will probably consider eating at other venues the next time we want Mexican food. This saddens me cause it was first decent Mexican food we experienced since moving to the KC area a few years ago. However we had several problems. One it was super busy. Second we felt like our waitress was very curt to point where we felt like we were an inconvenience to her. Thirdly the tacos I ordered looked like they platted with a shotgun. They were fine once I remade them. Finally the beans were unbelievably salty which is an odd complaint since I am almost addicted to salt.

Went during Covid, I used to go here weekly, I was with my parents and my son and we ate our chips and the lady went to get another bowl, brought the bowl back and we were eating the chips and noticed she had piled the chips on top of trash from another table! We will NEVER go there again. I haven’t gone in over a year. They lost ALL of my business.

1 of the best kept secrets in the northland. Probably the best Mexican food in the northland & better than some on Southwest Blvd. If you like hot, get the green sauce with your salsa. Its delicious!

Flavor is lacking! The rice and beans bland. Street tacos were big chunks w to many gristly chewy pieces of “steak”. Spent way to much to get flavorless food. mi hacienda waaaaaaaaaaaaay better worth every penny.

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had around town. The street tacos are a must have.
