EVERYTHING was amazing! The atmosphere, the friendly and attentive staff, the menu selection, the fresh and delicious seafood, and the value for the amount of food you get. I am originally from the East Coast and have been to many fresh seafood restaurants when I was there. Red Crab Boil puts them to shame! They have the absolute BEST fried oysters I have EVER had. This is the best seafood in Lee's Summit! Nay, the best in Missouri! Nope... quite possibly the best in the Universe!!!
So I decided to go in and order just sauce so we could do our own seafood boil at home. To be honest there prices for food were over priced. I ordered regular garlic butter, Cajun, lemon pepper and all mixed. The lemon pepper tasted weird, the garlic butter had no flavor and the garlic chunks were huge and brown. The Cajun had so much salt in it you couldn't eat it. I was extremely dissatisfied considering just sauce cost $50. I won't go back. I almost took it back up there and requested a refund and this was the next day. It was so bad. The sauce makes everything. There are definitely some other places that are way better. And better prices. Not to mention I'm seeing these reviews and none is bothering to reach out and try to fix these situations. Poor customer service.
Their food is very tasty and fulfilling. My mom and I shared the $59 meal with shrimp, crab, and lobster. So good. We've been there 2 nights in a row. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I asked for a bigger plastic container for my liquid sauce and shrimp and was told that was for Togo orders. Apparantly, this doesn't apply to dine in Togo food . I didn't want to put my shrimp and soupy sauce in a Togo box or bag which is messy. The other irony is that we had 4 styrofoam water cups on our table but I couldn't get a second plastic container. I feel that was unnecessary to us especially since we spent $80 bucks there for a second night in a row. Besides that it was spectacular food.
Great food, great service. Patient and swift staff. Warm and cozy interior. Perfect for small family or nice date. Well worth the price.
My husband and I tried this place last week and even though it's extremely small on the inside the food was really good. He got the fried catfish basket and I got the crab and shrimp boil mixed with all 3 flavors. The shrimp were large and delicious. I loved the seasonings on the whole eggs and potatoes and its extremely messy but what do you expect. My only disappointment was my crab claw and 5 legs were extremely small with hardly any meat so that was disappointing for that price. That's what I wanted the most. I may try them again someday.
We planned to go to red lobster but the wait was ridiculously long and we were on a time crunch so we went here and I'm glad we did! We were able to quickly get seated at the bar, our drinks were good, our waitress was amazing and the food great!! We got calamari, hush puppies, and the hot seafood boil with snow crab and it was so delicious!! We will definitely be back!!
We went for restaurant week, but the special menu created for this was more expensive then the items separately on the menu. They wanted 35$ for an app, fried catfish basket and a slice of cheesecake. No, thank you.So we ordered from the regular menu. The hush puppies were good, and the tarter sauce. The shrimp pasta I got was filling but nothing special and my wife got the catfish basket. Again the food wasn't bad, but the prices were way too high for a strip mall eatery with fast food ambiance. We paid 35$ for 1 app, 2 meals and 1 soft drink.Even the crab and other dishes we saw delivered to other tables looked good, but again they were over priced. Just because you put 8 shrimp on a pound of pasta with some Alfredo sauce that tastes like it came from a can, doesn't mean it's worth 15$.This is a no for me. I would rather eat at a red lobster where there are cloth napkins, and silverware at least. We had paper napkins and I only got a fork with my pasta, no spoon or knife, and the fried fish basket was delivered without silverware.
The service and staff were great and welcoming! The atmosphere was clean and fresh. The space is a bit small and the food wasn’t what we expected. The catfish was moist and tasted like whiting. The hush puppies were great and flavorful. All in all it was an experience and most likely would not return.
I usually don't like shrimp but this shrimp pasta is really good! The flavor of the pasta and the huge pieces of garlic were really good together! We will be back!
I heard great things about this place. The servers were amazing but the food wasn’t so great. My king crab, eggs & corn were overcooked, calamari didn’t taste like calamari. Honestly the best thing was the chicken nuggets which is sad. Spent over $100 for the experience basically.
