UPDATE: This is my second time here and the salsa bar is empty again. So I'm dropping my review down a star, I feel a little cheated. The 3 in the middle are empty. The server just said that he asked them in the kitchen for some mango salsa for the bar and the kitchen said they are out, come back tomorrow. People are still coming in so maybe we should all get a after 9:00 discount.I'm going to give them four stars with the expectation that I will be changing that to a five-star at some later point and date. The food was really good and the service was painfully slow, they did just open so that's why I'm cutting them some slack. They have a salsa bar that our server didn't tell us about but we saw other people utilizing it and asked them about it and they said it was free. When we went to go use it was destroyed, there was no salsa left, all of the containers were empty.
Short version: Wait staff was excellent, the food was bland.Lunch visit:First impression: Chips were stale. Salsa OK. We sent chips back hoping for a fresher batch. The waitress did say she tried a few and agreed with us. We liked that she not only listened but sampled to confirm. Hence the positive review for the staff. But it was the only chips they had available so new batch was the same slightly stale quality.Cheese dip was mostly milk, lacked flavor.California Burrito was big but lacked flavor. It did not have much chicken and the small amount was on the dry side. Most of the burrito was rice/beans, which was OK but too much of it. It also had large fries that were not hand-cut, they were from a frozen bag of steak fries I'm pretty sure and under-fried. It wanted sauce in it and the cheese on top was the same milky dip sauce so it didn't do enough to help out the dry chicken and rice.Chicken Fajitas: Bland chicken again. No toppings for the fajitas came out. No pico or guac or sour cream or cheese or lettuce, nothing. Just the beans/rice plate. Wife said it was OK and she liked the milky cheese dip more than I did and poured it over the fajitas to make up for lack of flavor and toppings.Too much competition in the Mexican food business, I doubt this place makes it and we're unlikely to come back.Note: We did notice a large number of older diners and perhaps the bland, lacking of spice menu was speaking to them. So if you are looking for that you can take my poor review as a recommendation.
The manager recommended chicken/spinach enchiladas. So great! I'll be back - A LOT!!!
Shrimp fajita chimi filled with perfectly sauteed shrimp, onions, and peppers. Guacamole dip creamy delight without too much onion.
First time at this restaurant and was not a good experience. They're new and have a lot of kinks to work out. We ordered take out. The phones were down so we had to drive there to put in our order. They never called when our order was ready when they told us they would so our food was cold when we got it an hour and 20 minutes later. They also forgot several things we ordered: chips and salsa, extra sides of rice and tortillas, no salsa on the top per the menu description. Food was good after we heated it up in our microwave.They've got a lot of work to do to compete in the food game in LS. We won't be returning.
Food was so good! I had the seafood enchiladas and my mom got chicken fajitas. Portions were huge! Margaritas were so good! We had a watermelon and strawberry peach. Servers were amazing and constantly checked on us. Highly recommend!
This is my new favorite spot! The rice was so good, it was not dry and the refried beans are not dry or over cooked! I ordered the Tacos Gobernador and the Spinach Crab Dip (Real Crab Meat)! The meat is TENDER! Oh man honestly this is the best Mexican Restaurant in Kansas city, lees summit, Kansas! Like y’all I eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants but this is def top 3 and it’s not 3 or 2! And it’s clean!! You won’t be disappointed you shouldn’t and it’s authentic! ? This is not a paid review, I’m just really happy and excited! ??
