We're visiting the Kansas City area and needed an ice cream cool down. The custard at Andy's hit the spot. Ordering was interesting because there's not a ton of flavors—vanilla and chocolate are the choices. But, you get your chosen flavor mixed in. Quite ingenious business wise. I got the mint treat which was exceptionally tasty. On our way out of town, we're planning to pop in to get one for the road.
The last several times we have gone to Andy's in Lee's Summit, MO we have gotten really inconsistent service. They seldom get the orders right the first time, and I've often found that I'll be charged different amounts even if my order is the same as the time before. Usually I catch it, but if I'm in a rush I sometimes miss it.Tonight for example, we ordered a small vanilla cup, two large vanilla cups, a small butterfinger concrete, a quart of the black raspberry chocolate chunk, and 2 pup cups for my dogs.I told the person at the window that all of them had a gluten intolerance. When she told the person making them that there was a gluten allergy, I could here him groan and complain about it. She told him to not worry, they were just ice cream. Then she handed me a Pint of raspberry chocolate chunk. I reminded her I had ordered (and I assume paid for) a quarter. She then told me they were out of quarts, but she at least gave me a second pint.NOTE: This is not the first time that I paid for a quart, but got a pint. The time before I didn't notice until I got home, but I assumed I must have only paid for a pint until I saw my card statement later. Then, when I got home tonight, I found I had 3 pup cups (not two), and two small cups. The only thing they got right was my Mom's concrete.I immediately called the store to let them know. No one answered even though they were still open for another 30 minutes. I left them a message, and asked them to call me back.I haven't heard back from anyone. This is unacceptable. I was trying to handle directly, but I guess that won't work.
Went a second time and updating review. Custard is great but I pulled up to the window. They had both my custards gave me on and took the other one back bc it was wrong, just added what was missing but failed to tell me the put oreos in accidently, I do not like oreos. For $18 for 2 I should get what I pay for. They need it was wrong and should've remade it
VERY busy location. Locals lined up and loved it. No inside seating and I was really cold outside. Long drive-thru line! Service was OK. They were so busy we had to wait a bit for our order. Well staffed. Only ice cream (lots of options) but no other food/snacks.
I never would have imagined starberry ice cream and Oreos would blend so perfectly together.I had the Strawberry Oreo Milkshake, large of course, and I slightly wished they offered and XL shake as my straw started to gargle.Great place that I will miss once I am back in my home state of FL.
This place is perfect. Perfect for a quick snack. Perfect for a hot summer day. Perfect for a late night craving and perfect for gaining weight. I love this place and would definitely recommend.
Best ice cream place ever, I always enjoy the concrete choice with a little waffle cone pieces.Might have a wait but it’s worth it.
It was FANTASTIC ❣️ The go to place after getting multiple hardware removed from your foot !!!! What a sundae, turtle sundae!!!! I will get one again !
Normally a fan of Andy's but Sunday night was horrible. About 10 people ahead of me in line outside. 25 minutes later still 7 people ahead of me. Looking inside you could see 4-5 workers just standing around. Maybe trainees, I don't know, but not very much work happening. Finally just left after half an hour in line.
Amazing ice cream as usual. But when it's busy, and there's a whole group in the front orders tend to get messed up. There is a whole pile of melted ice cream on the front counter I have waited 30 minutes and had to go through the drive thru to get my order.Andy's need to get a number order system like any other place to keep better track of orders.
