DANG ! That chocolate malt was Great !!And Happy Hour Half Price !!!Triple Burger and fries filled up this couple, and service was fast and friendly .

At first glance this place may not seems like much, but don't let that fool you. The food is delicious, and it's worth the trip. My son and I stopped in on our way to the Nelson-Atkins museum for a quick bite. We both got a double steak burger with onion rings and fries. The burgers are seasoned good, and were cooked perfect. They have the crispy smash burger style. They serve them with a whole onion slice too, which I really enjoyed. The onion rings are huge, and you get a lot! One order could probably serve 2 people. My son ordered a limeade classic limeade and loved it. It even comes with a scoop of lime sherbet on top.

I had a chance to try Winstead's, after reading all of the positive reviews. Perhaps the place has gone downhill, or maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I fail to see what all the hype is about. My burger had almost no taste at all, as if the patty wasn't even seasoned. Just grease, and flavorless grease, at that. The only thing positive I can really offer is that the drive-thru staff are fast, friendly, and efficient. It's wonderful they have a bucket of dog biscuits for our furry friends. I have a feeling that dog biscuit might have tasted better than my burger, though. It's highly unlikely that we'll be back. There are simply too many options in KC that have impressed from first visit to give this spot a second chance.McDonald's burgers have better taste.

The staff was courteous, the waitress anticipated my needs, she suggested mixing fries, tots, or onions rings which was a good idea I had a bit of each. They definitely don't skimp one the vegetables ??????. The food was good. Very clean place. I would say the seatings a few are in disrepair but still very clean. Bathroom was clean, I would definitely recommend this place.

We love Winstead’s burgers onion rings and cherry limeades. Always great They grill the onions add mayo everything like I like it. Onion rings well done. The Plaza location is the last one but it looks terrible inside Slow death. Sad to see it look this way. Carpet is nasty. Booths filthy. Hate to see this

Stopped in for one of my fave guilty pleasures today--a chocolate ice cream soda!! It was absolutely delicious. Many times things are simply not as good as one remembers. However, Winstead's has never disappointed me!! It was delivered by a cheerful server--oldies played in the background as I blissfully consumed this soda fountain classic. Doesn't get any better than this!!

Our time was limited when we went in. The server tossed some menus on a table, so we assumed that was where we were supposed to sit. She didn't come back for nearly 10 minutes, even though the place was nearly empty. We decided to get our order to go. I was finally able to place the order for 2 coffees and a root beer float. It took a long time to get the order, even though no other customers were placing orders. I gave the server my card for payment. We all thought she wasn't bringing it back, so we got up and prepared to leave, so she finally brought my card back.

This is a classic burger and shake restaurant. The service is cool. I usually get the double burger, fries and a chocolate shake. I like the old school vibe the restaurant provides. I like the color scheme. It reminds me of the 1950s. Everytime I go choose to sit in the booth. I appreciate that this is open late because that's when a greasy burger taste the best. I took my mom here to celebrate her birthday. She truly enjoyed the banana split. I got the banana malt.

Such a classic, the steak burgers are reminiscent of an old fashioned diner and are always on point. The shakes are thick and the service is great, there's nothing like the atmosphere if you have time to eat-in. And I always get the 50/50, what's better than onion rings AND fries?!

The people here are always so friendly. The food is great, don't expect anything gourmet. I eat here because it's cozy and classic comfort food. Also, since I last visited, they must have hired a new cook-- my food was hot off the grill in about five minutes.
