Best restaurant in Kansas City. The food is a combination of perfect execution and delicious flavors, it truly felt like I was back in Paris! The service was spectacular, it makes Westport Cafe standout among their peers. Our waiter gave great recommendations and was truly passionate about the food and drinks. Get the Lamb Bao and the Burgundy Forest Escargots, two truly stand out items. The Bao was incredibly flavorful and the Escargot is not overly buttery and includes mushrooms! I don’t write reviews but this is my third visit with consistently amazing food and service.
Phenomenal. Got the cheese plate and ravioli during late happy hour. No regrets. Very friendly and accommodating staff, excellent service. I had just come from the airport and was not dressed nicely (I also didn't realize it was a fancy place, was just looking for somewhere with the kitchen still open to eat dinner after 10) and they treated me no differently. Fun, eclectic vibe with a mix of people in jeans and several dressed up really nice. Wonderful food
I enjoy all of my experiences at Westport cafe. My friend got a fish special that neither of us liked, the texture was really off and it was very salty. My item was from the regular menu and it was the lamb ragu and it was perfection. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails with their meal as well. The entrance system I accessible, the restrooms are accessible. Parking is street parking. Restrooms are gender-neutral. Service is friendly. The environment affords for either casual or dressing up for a special night out the menu is a little pricier than other restaurants in the area. This is a very small restaurant, even a group of six is not very comfortable in there.
Such a lovely place with a nice quiet ambiance. Every food item I’ve ever tried here has been delicious. The black truffle risotto was especially good. The lamb Ragu was on point and the steak is cooked to perfection every time. This is one of my favorite places in Westport because the food is good and they are open late and the staff is literally so nice every time.
Guess it’s been awhile since I’ve been in a city city because you need a reservation, well it’s preferred, though they do have free for all bar top seating if you didn’t make one.Ok to the thing that matters, the food. I’m not an egg eater which most of the brunch menu is. Usually weary about ordering French toast because sometimes it’s too soggy for me. Gave it a chance here, and sheesh I would have to say they were some of the best French toast I’ve had. The caramelized apples, whipped cream, the vanilla sauce - smacking, delicious, oh so good. The soufflé pancake was just as good with the raspberry sauce it came with.To the aesthetics and atmosphere: has the European vibes with its small and quaint decor and food selections. If you can’t get into Snooze, an A.M - this is a great trade off which is only up the street and around the corner.
Visiting from Dallas, I wanted a spot for a late dinner and a nice drink with my girlfriend. This place was perfect. The food was amazing, and John our waiter, was kind and great to talk too. Would HIGHLY recommend this place for a night out with great conversation.
Westport Cafe is a cute little French place with an excellent happy hour! I went there with friends after a day at the art museum. The pomme frites and cheese plate were delicious, and the cocktails were very tasty and refreshing! To top it all off, our waiter was an absolute delight! An excellent experience
The food is incredible and the desserts are fantastic!
This place feels, sounds, and smells French, it's like being teleported to a French bistro in Paris. I had the steak tartare, the chicken liver terrine and the truffle salad and they were excellent. Great cocktails and good wine selection, too.
Always amazing! The scallops are my go-to. The menu changes a little bit seasonally so there’s always something new to try. The drinks are some of the best in town, service is always excellent. Have been here at least 10 times over the past 5 years & am impressed every time.
