Cute little coffee shop and bar! I've been once during the daytime and once in the evening. The aesthetic of this place is everything. I don't drink so I appreciate the option to order an iced coffee at 8pm ?It's too bad that they do not seem to offer any typical "bar food" options in the evening, at least not that I saw on the bar menu. But if you want cereal they have it! ?
My mocha was really good. The employees were really nice and the environment is comfortable and inviting. We checked Google Maps before going to see how busy they were. They didn't look busy. When we walked in all the seating, while there is a lot, was taken except about 4 seats at the bar. We decided to sit at the bar. After about 10 minutes several seats opened up and we moved. It was between 3:00 and 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon. We will definitely go back.
This is a great coffee shop in a historic part of Kansas City. We had the 12 oz mocha and 8 oz americano and both were very good. They had more seating than I expected. Friendly baristas who know how to pull a good shot. Not surprising given their reputation in KC. Quite a bit of on street parking nearby and the light rail system has a stop just steps away. Definitely will go back!

Kyra took care of me. I wandered in, bright and early, and gave them my pregnant wife's order: "blueberry lemonade... but with coffee." After a brief moment of consideration, I was presented with a Matcha Lemonade from the tap. Bubbly and spritely with a smidgen of caffeine. A perfect start to my anniversary. And my wife said it was just the thing!
My husband and I have a lot of memories centered around Thou Mayest (the original spot in the Crossroads) We had some of our first dates there, great times with friends, tiki parties and we got a lot of our wedding pictures taken there. We were absolutely devastated when they had to close that location. When River Quay reopened and I walked in for the first time, I tested up. It was so similar to the original place. It had the same vibes. Felt the same. It was warm and cozy and felt kind of like a cabin in the woods. Trees and plants everywhere, a bar, ample seating for everyone, eclectic decor and such a friendly staff. They had brought in these vintage green pockets that had been at The Crossroads location and we had gotten some wedding pictures taken in front of. Everything was just… perfect. The coffee and beverages were just as good as ever! This is somewhere I will come back to over and over again ♥️
Totally redone by new owner! Yum yum coffee with lots of 'milk' choices. We tried the oat milk! Oh my heavens! Gluten-free too!
Nicks one of the best baristas in town, makes an especially delicious iced mocha.Does a great job of being a friendly face behind the coffee counter what is exactly what you want for your local spot.
The atmosphere is great and the baristas are always super friendly. Plus the coffee is wonderful! We buy our beans from here and it’s somewhere we always bring out of town visitors.
Everything I look for in a great cafe: excellent coffee/menu options, comfy and practical seating good for lounging or work, lots of outlets, creative and comfortable vibe inside, not too loud and not a library.Bring your friends and remote work here.
