I am a Manhattan drinker, and I judge an establishment heavily on whether or not their bartenders can accomplish this drink to my liking.... This bar did.Not only was it great, but he put his own "twist" on the classic drink, and it was one of my favorite versions of the Manhattan I have had in this city. Premium cocktails worth every penny. ???
I visited the Monarch Bar for a private birthday party. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and an overall great time. The only reason I was unable to give 5 stars is due to parking I had an hard time finding parking and had to drive around the block several times before finding a parking spot. The signage was also hard to locate while driving to find the location. Otherwise I had a great experience and will be back in the future.
This weekend was my second experience at this lovely upscale and luxurious bar! Will be returning! My server Sarah was bomb and on point! Customer service was very appreciated and everyone accommodated me and my party to the best of their ability!
Fantastic atmosphere and service. We had a beautiful time celebrating a birthday. Large selection of high quality and top shelf liquor. Customizable cocktails. Attention to detail. Highly recommend!
INCREDIBLE. We've lived in KC for 5 years now and somehow JUST heard about The Monarch Bar. We were lucky enough to snag a reservation in The Parlour and had an amazing night! Scott was our bartender and not only was he wildly knowledgeable but also a phenomenal host. The cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere was unmatched! Definitely check this place out if you can! The experience is worth every penny!
Is it overpriced? Well, for Kansas City, it feels pretty steep. However, the drinks are unique and tasty, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I love going to this place every once and awhile and getting one or two drinks. As with most things, you get what you pay for. I’d say it’s worth it!
You must come here. It is easily one of the best cocktail bars I've been to. The decor is classy and pretty. The staff is educated and the menu is complex but they are happy to help. Tons of options and some of the most detailed cocktails I've seen. Well worth the higher price tag.

Phenomenal experience. We had alcohol free drinks which were delicious. The music was such a vibe and the service was awesome. I wish they had a dance floor - the music was amazing the entire time we were there. An incredibly classy bar - highly recommend!
Would have given it 1 star due to the cold, icy, apathetic mood that was shown to us for most of my family's experience with Jordan as our waitress, but we were fortunate enough to have our waitress changed. Sarah filled in for icy Jordan and salvaged the evening. She even filled our evening with more joy and laughter. She is warm, funny, and knows how to treat her guests, even we whom are loud and full of laughter. Thank you Sarah for reigniting our joy on our evening out. A damper was put on it, but you fixed it. You're AMAZING!!! Also, thank you management staff for making the proper adjustment. I've worked in the hospitality business for over twenty years. The first waitress could very well be a disaster, personality-wise, for first time patrons at an establishment. You shouldn't be a waitress at an establishment as classy as this if you don't really care for laughter, cheer, or diversity. After all, you're in Kansas City. We're literally EVERYWHERE!!! We wanna enjoy ourselves in our own way. I will pay for the good food and great drinks. However, I will not pay for the attitude, mistreatment, and terse condescending tone that Jordan approached my family and friends with EVER AGAIN!!!! Only in this last part...do better Monarch!SARAH...YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!! ??⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
