This is my favorite KC breakfast spot! You might not stumble onto it on your own, but now you know! Perfect homemade diner-style comfort food. Hashbrowns are perfection.
Have eaten here once and it was pretty good, returned today during business hours to find it closed ?? no sign on the door but upon closer examination a faded closed sign could be found off to the side… still we came during posted business hours. Hope they work out the issues causing this.
I have been going to The Mixing Bowl for a couple years now. The staff is great, the owners treat you like family and the breakfast is good down home, stick to your ribs, delicious food. They have a few larger tables near the back that are great for larger groups. I like to bring my team from work here from time to time so we can enjoy a nice meal together.
I was here on a Saturday morning by myself. I'm from out of town and wanted breakfast from a local place. They were busy but I got seated right away. I had the loaded hash browns with sausage, peppers, onions, cheddar and sausage gravy. (I skipped the scrambled egg on top) It was delicious! Our server Steph (I think) was great. I would definitely bring my family back.
Roadtrip from Minnesota, stopped here for late breakfast after a long night...it was just what we needed to soak up the sins from First Fridays ? Food was delicious and the staff was great!! Fresh baked cinnamon rolls everyday ❤ made with love!
The mixing bowl is one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Kansas City. From the great warm smiles and happy faces from the receptive staff to the smell of some KNE OF A KIND Cinnamon roll GREATNESS. You will find this establishment to be a quaint small town feel with big city food flavor. I promise you, that if you come once. You'll know what I'm saying is 100% true. Everything here was cooked with love. Oh!? Did I mention the Cinnamon rolls!?! OMG ? words cannot express how amazing they are and if your fortunate to get one out of the oven...don't say I didn't warn your happy tastebuds! Stop in and checkout Kansas Citys hidden gem! If I could leave a 10 out of 5 I would! This is by far the best place I’ve eaten breakfast in my life! Traveling from out of state and they made us feel like we were right at home, couldn’t be more pleased with the experience I had. I got the 2,2,2 breakfast and I could die happy if that was my last meal:D The service was some of the best I’ve ever had and they were always checking on us:) Definitely check this place out if you’re in the Kansas City, MO area!!!
Look, I’m a restaurant girl. I LOVE eating out. I haven’t experienced this level of hospitality in a while. The whole staff was amazing, making us and other guests feel at home and constantly taken care of, no strangers walk in their doors. The food is standard American breakfast, served hot and with constant coffee refills.
