Had a meeting with a customer and did not intend to each lunch. However, after placing our drink order, the server told us of some specials they had. We were sold instantly. My customer got the Pot Roast and I ordered the Teriyaki Salmon. I absolutely loved my lunch and think my customer was impressed with his, also. Will definitely come back!
Good food and good vibes. We came to enjoy the live music. Listen to Last Bus To Mars band. I also tried the favorite sweet and spicy chicken. It did leave me wanting more sweetness and more spiciness. The chicken was nice and juicy. But definitely lacked some heat. Still good times.
AWFUL service. Met some friends there on Sunday night at 6. It was seat yourself. We sat pretty close to the bar. It’s like we were INVISIBLE and no one was assigned to our table. NO ONE EVER CAME TO OUR TABLE THE ENTIRE NIGHT. Do they not have wait staff in the bar? A very large group in the bar right next to us got waited on. We ordered drinks at the bar to get started. Well, I guess we need to order our food there too. I stood at the bar so long, I started to order online. Just as I was about to put in payment information the bar tender helped me. I guess she thought we wanted it to go because it came out in styrofoam. I had to watch for it coming out of the kitchen and ask for it. Then we got the wrong food. Chicken tenders instead of a pork tenderloin sandwich. She did promptly bring a pork tenderloin sandwich for me to take home. We had to scrounge for napkins, salt and pepper. Very disappointing! I was embarrassed that I suggested the place to my friends. Too bad because I do like the pork tenderloin there but it certainly isn’t worth all the trouble. This place might be better to seat people and only seat those they can serve.
Excellent atmosphere, fabulous food and dynamite service! First time dining here but definitely won't be my last. A perfect place for a nice lunch with only an hour. Plenty of time to eat, visit and get back to the office. Very enjoyable indeed ?
Margarita's, Fried pickles and Chicken nachos and everything was amazing!!! Sat outside on the patio and had a fantastic time!! Will definitely be back!!!
This place has great food, but last night the service was terrible. Ordered the Bacon Blue Cheese salad with a fried egg on top. The egg came out hard boiled. Waitress said sorry. A few more bites in and noticed no bacon, waitress came out and said sorry. Never offered to make it right. The wife's food was good, my salad was good, just didn't get what I ordered yet still paid full price for it.
Always welcoming, good food, nice service. Really busy about noon. A little noisy w/ several groups at the bigger tables, but got better as they got their food, and started breaking up.Usually clean & good food, service & friendly place, a go to in the neighborhood!! Enjoy!!!
1st visit to Southside. Came for St Pat's day corned beef and cabbage special. Hands down best I have ever had. Planning to return for some of the other offerings when we get a chance.
Woohoo! It's great to find a local restaurant when you are hungry and somewhat lost and desperate for good food on a road trip. This place appear to be a popular local diner with plenty of patrons while we visited.This place provided awesome service and great food. Portions were too much and we took leftovers with us to hotel at out next stop on our trip.The staff here worked very hard and are very conscious of patron needs. it might have taken a while to get our bill, but food served hot and not too fast after salad, A mix up on the sides was recognized by our server and provided the correct side promptly.We couldn't find an interesting (non-chain) place to eat while be hungry and are happy we found this location a bit off our path. I've marked this restaurant for future visit when passing through Kansas City.
Absolutely love Southside. I have made my way through half the menu the past year. OMG, the burgers are the best in KC. Delicious nachos and wings. Great service and atmosphere. I love when they have live music on the weekends. We ordered pizza last weekend and it was excellent. I really like their homemade Thousand Island salad dressing so much I ordered a pint to go last week. The owners are always working and know everyone by their name. It’s like being at “Cheers” in Boston. All I can say is “GO THERE”!!!
