Excellent BBQ!!!

Wow and wow food was amazing but Martell our waiter went above and beyond. He noticed the kitchen had a few missteps and he fixed it and then some. The atmosphere was stellar, menu had many options for all flavor palettes. Highly recommend and again Martell thanks for a beautiful experience.

Absolutely no complaints about the food. The ribs, prime rib sandwich, sides and drinks were all excellent. However, my husband ordered “Ribs and Ribs” which was listed around $23. When the bill arrived, we had been charged over $36. We asked our server about it and she said they substituted short ribs for beef ribs and they cost more. We were never asked if the substitute was ok. Most restaurants would have asked us first or given us the upgrade for no extra charge. The manager eventually gave us a $7 price break, but it should have been the full $13. Also, we were one of two tables occupied at the time (it was near closing) and it took forever to get the attention of the waitstaff. Overall, it was great food, but maybe the waitstaff needs a little more training.

This used to be my favorite spot for bbq since around 2006. I always get the burnt ends with brisket. Today this is what I got for $27 with tip. I called and spoke with the manager who offered no rectification. So today will be my last meal with them.

The best barbecue in zona rosa

Just moved back home to Missouri and decided to go here for a date night. Our waiter who I think was Curtis did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed the whole time. We not once had to ask for anything and he gave us extra on top of that! This young man is going places and maybe that's upper management because he knows what it takes to make customers not only feel appreciated but also feel special by going the extra mile. It wasn't just us. I saw him give phenomenal service to all of his tables. He deserves a raise. That goes for all the employees who seemed so nice and easy going which can be hard to do on a busy Saturday night. Keep up the great work everybody!

Honest review!! The staff and service deserve 5+ stars. We were seated quickly, food came out fast, staff was very friendly. The food was horrible! This is a very bad impression of BBQ. We had rib sandwich "B3", prime rib sandwich, burnt ends and short ribs, fries, coleslaw, and pickle fries. We barley ate any of our food. The short ribs were the only thing decent, BBQ sauce was like a paste and not good at all .. The fries were not even good, coleslaw was ok, pickle fries were very salty.I quickly understood why Texas Roadhouse (a chain restaurant) had a 1hr wait..

First timer in KC work (from Texas), and saw this place had great reviews for BBQ. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries and onion rings via UberEats. The food arrived quickly and perfectly temperature hot. It was well packaged in a plastic container with an additional cup of their BBQ and coleslaw on the side. The onion rings came with ranch. The fries and o rings were perfect, I loved them. Giving this review 3 stars for the pulled pork being slightly dry. Even though the sandwich came with some BBQ sauce on it, dipping it into the cup of sauce didn’t help it much. I would try this place again though if I’m ever back in town for work though. Thanks!

We are traveling cross country. Did a little homework on KC BBQ near KC airport. So glad we picked Smokehouse! Excellent combo with ribs , chicken and beef. Very good. Highly recommend.

I wanted to finally introduce my wife to Kansas City BBQ because she's from Texas. She had been eyeing this place since we moved to KC in October 2021. On the menu for Burnt End Platter, it says "Choice of 1 or 2: Mouthwatering chunks of certified angus beef brisket, juicy pork, or chunks of delicious polish sausage served with coleslaw, french fries, texas toast, and pickles". When we asked our waiter, he did NOT indicate if you choose only one it doesn't come with the burnt ends, it IS the burnt ends. When we got our plates, mine was missing all but 1 of my sides (the fries). We had to ask for the toast and coleslaw. Then my "burnt ends" were NOT burnt ends. I grew up on burnt ends homemade and what was on my plate was a freaking joke! It was shredded beef with very little bbq sauce! My wife's plate was polish sausage and she was missing her sides as well. We complained to our server and asked for the manager because we expected polish sausage with BURNT ENDS. The manager approaches with a soul attitude and tries to argue with us about what burnt ends really are. Saying the "burn" the ends and smothering in bbq sauce. My wife's sausage had NO burnt ends at all, it was barely warmed up with loads of bbq sauce. NO woman polish sausage is NOT burnt ends!!!!!!!!!! On top of all that, those sides are very small portioned, toddler size. We refused to pay for my wife's plate, did pay for mine since I had taken a few bites, but we should've also fought for that. The ONLY good we got out of it was corn nuggets and fried zucchini... THAT alone was NOT worth the $40 we ended up paying. WILL NEVER RETURN! Now I'm gun shy about finding a different BBQ place for my wife. Thanks for the crappy "burnt" ends! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Also your manager needs an attitude check because that was terrible service on her end too!
