I have been wanting to try this place and have heard good things. I was really craving a spicy crab salad. So I ordered that, miso soup, and lettuce wraps. The salad was not what I'm used to but ok. The lettuce wraps were dripping with grease but had a decent flavor. The miso soup was good. There are other sushi places up north that are much better. One and done for me.

I really want to give it a 4, but I can’t get past the “filth”. I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for 5-years. The tables continue to get stickier each visit — so much so that the menu got “stuck” to the table. When you go to the restroom, your feet stick to the floor. One of the menus was actually falling apart. They have a bunch of supplies and chairs stacked up in customer view towards the restrooms. All that being said, the service is outstanding. The server is attentive. The food was brought out quickly. There was perfect timing between appetizers and main course. The table was bussed appropriately. We were greeted and seated immediately, even with other guests that entered at the same time. 5-star service. The food. With exception of the crunchies being super stale for the egg drop soup, everything was fantastic. We had egg drop soup for 2 — it was as fantastic as always— there is actually enough for 4 — we had some to take home. They have a nice twist adding shrimp and chicken. I always get the blue crab roll with a generous portion of real crab on top. My daughter had the caterpillar roll, which she very much enjoyed. That roll is not for me — too sweet. It was decorated as a caterpillar with sweet cherries for eyes and eel skin tail, lol. It had a sweet sauce that went well with cream cheese. She loved it, just not for me. Value — I’d have to give it a 2 for my roll — $17.95 is pretty steep for the quality for a single roll. At that price, you might expect “lump” crab meat. I’m pretty sure it’s tiny shreds or canned crab meat — it’s definitely real, not Polock. I don’t think I’ll be going back for a while. Dinner for two with 25% tip was $90. At that price, the service was great, but the cleanliness and stale crunchies were a big turn-off. We did have the spring roll appetizer, 2-rolls, and egg drop soup. The spring roll was fantastic, but the peanut sauce was thick and chunky (unappetizing).

I’m a little ashamed that it has taken me this long to write a review for Saki. Ever since it opened, it has been my husband and I’s favorite sushi restaurant in all of KC! Highly recommend the Phoenix, lucky dragon, and spicy shrimp rolls—we have to get them every time we go. Also don’t sleep on the crab wontons for an appetizer, they are stuffed FULL and so delicious!

I was so disappointed when we went for dinner last night. This used to be one of my favorite Asian/sushi spots. I have not been since the beginning of the pandemic (only ordering for take out). Upon entry to the restaurant we were bombarded by numerous paper signs hanging on the doors, host stand and bar about needing help, being short staffed, or where to pick up/ wait for take our orders. We were quickly taken to a table by a host that didn’t even look at us once. The carpet was sticky, as in our shoes were actually making a suction noise as we walked across the floor. The table top was also sticky and the menus stuck to it as we handed them back to our server, who after bringing us a glass of water asked if we were already ready to order. The bar area had staff coats, paperwork and a can of peanuts piled onto it. As staff cleared dishes from tables they put them into a clearly overfull bus tub located right behind our table, with a loud clanging noise that could not be ignored. My boyfriend used the restroom before our food came and it was just as sticky as everything else. The dynamite roll might have been good if it was not piled high with additional crab meat and eel sauce and falling apart completely as we were eating it.

The waitress was really friendly. And don't get me started on the udon noodles and eel sauce, the sushi especially the caterpillar roll was delicious.

I had an amazing Birthday Lunch.Sushi Boat with some red wine.

DO NOT DO IT!$200 for 4 of us, sushi came out very last as we were ready to leave, food was good but not where near worth the price! Aaaaaaand service was terrible, even w only one other table in the entire restaurant!!!! Go somewhere else!!!!!

Food was good. Need to work on upkeep of the restaurant.

All of our food was excellent. My wife and son enjoyed all of their sushi, while I had the General Tso's chicken and found it to be freshly made and tasty. Highly recommended!
