Easily accessible on the corner of the Plaza, Rye is known for their brick roasted chicken. Delicious. We also had trout both served with baked potatoes and green beans. Sounds basic but upscale presentation and flavours make this a don't miss

Burnt end hash was really good as was the quiche. I was a bit disappointed in the cinnamon roll as it was a bit dry but tasty. We saw others that looked much fresher with lots of gooey frosting.

Came for a Father’s Day brunch just after noon time. We had reservations and were able to be seated right away. Decor is casual, but had an upscale feel to it. Food was good, but not outstanding. Shrimp and grits was probably the best entree we had (not actually on the breakfast menu). Eggs Benedict had an option to be served with salmon instead of ham, which was what we chose. The breakfast platter looked nice, but the biscuit was deemed by my friend to be too dry. The omelet was supposed to have bacon, cheddar, and tomatoes. The person who ordered it could not chew bacon, having just had dental surgery, so it was omitted, but there was just a tiny sliver of tomato in the entire omelet, and certainly there was no attempt to provide extra tomatoes since the bacon was omitted. The most disappointing part of the meal was that the father being honored for Father’s Day specifically came just for the giant cinnamon roll, which he was anxious to show off to everyone, and they were out of cinnamon rolls. We had orange zest cinnamon rolls instead, but they were much smaller (according to him) and not even warm. So it was really not the life-changing cinnamon roll experience that he was expecting to share with us. The server was very nice and we did enjoy our stay, but it was far short of five star on this occasion.

We sat at the bar and got excellent service! The food was great; good selection of cocktails, beer & wine. Don't forget they have a bakery with all kinds of goodies!

Thrilled with our decision to get Easter brunch at Rye. The burnt end hash was loaded with flavor and cooked to perfection. The cinnamon rolls should be famous if they aren’t: perfectly baked dough — neither gooey (in the bad sense) nor dry — flavorful icing, and just the right amount of cinnamon. And, if you can’t tell from the pics, they’re massive! Even the drip coffee delighted: the special Roasterie blend was delicious. If we hadn’t gotten ourselves so full, we’d have stayed to enjoy one of their outstanding cocktails or a pour from among their fine selection of whiskeys. // UPDATE: I neglected to mention an equally important part of the experience: the servers. All the staff were prompt, attentive, well-groomed (you’d think that’d be a given, but unfortunately these days it’s not) and courteous.

Service was great! The food was good, only thing is that there was too much bread used when making the French toast. It took away from the "French toast" taste. While this spot is a little pricey it's definitely worth a visit. I'll return one day!

Excellent place for weekend breakfast. Great food prepared properly, but not overly fancy. Reservations recommend on weekends, but full service bar is open. My only issue was my square hash browns "patty" was more like I'd find at a fast food place.

Happened to be here on Valentine's day with some co-workers for dinner and they still had reservations available last minute. Took a long time for the server to get to our table but once he did he was very attentive. Lots of nice choices on the menu but each of us wound up underwhelmed. They touted the fried chicken as a must have, but it was pretty bland. The whipped goat cheese appetizer was pretty good, but it was just average overall. Nice atmosphere and a good date spot I guess, but overpriced for the food quality.

I had theirneggs benedict, and we shared their pancakes ?. It was all delicious, the ambiance is a definite throwback, and the place is very comforting. It eas a great space to have a good conversation. Our waiter was helpful, but not intrusive.

Queer Bar Takeover chooses a traditionally straight bar and takes it over on the second Saturday of each month; this month was Rye Plaza. The beautiful atmosphere was perfect for a good conversation and drinks with friends. The expansion room in the back housed the DJ and dance party. The staff was an absolute joy to work with and their mixologist mix a strong tasty drink. Thank you Rye for working with us to create a more inclusive KC.
