The server seemed irritated when we came in and the food was bland. We had guests in from out of town and they were not impressed by the lack of seasoning in the fried chicken, fried catfish, gravy etc. All were cooked properly, just terribly blah. The best part of the meal was the freshly baked biscuits with honey. The biscuits alone almost made up for everything else being so... underflavored.
Love their fried chicken paired with a huge baked potato. Nice to have the option of sitting at the bar if you are dining solo. Fast service in old school, laid back atmosphere. Makes me feel like I'm back in upstate New York in a family-owned establishment.
Chicken very good. Server nice and attentive. Green beans way to salty for my taste. Plate was swimming in butter from the baked potato, so no where to put roll or green beans. Need bigger plates.
The fried chicken, green beans, gravy, and biscuits were all great. I thought the mashed potatoes were so so but wife thought they were good. Really good iced tea also.
I had always thought this other restaurant in the KC area had the best pan fried chicken, well let me tell you, I was wrong, Rc's is the best and there sides are excellent also. I was so wanting to try one of their cobblers but they gave you so much food I didn't have room for dessert. I can't wait to go back and try out their gizzards.
We had high hopes and I had been craving chicken fried steak. We ordered that and fish and chips to try both. I'm not a fried chicken person so I use these two to judge a place that fries things. Both were super greasy and there was no crispy to the steak. Not anything we would go back for. The mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits did hit the spot.
My girls and I took my youngest and my grandson Saturday and had a great time. Parking is crazy but got through the line quickly. Staff very friendly and kids really enjoyed the baby goats and the hay ride.
This place has some incredible fried chicken!! They serve the sides well so make sure you save room for Cobbler and Ice Cream!!
RC's didn't become a landmark by accident. The food is always fantastic, no matter what time you stop in. If you haven't tried it, stop in. Just know that the portions are more than generous. So be prepared.
The fried chicken was good and hot however the mashed potatoes and gravey was barely warm not as good as I have had in past there. They have gone up quite a bit on there prices. Would be fine if everything was good and hot food. Service was OK.
