Great salad. I did take out and they forgot the walnuts. Not a big deal but when you are super excited for something it's a bummer when the order isn't right and it's not worth it to go back.
My fiancé and I stopped in for dinner. It was very busy and loud, but luckily were we seated in the back corner which helped. Our cocktails were pretty good, as were the beet salad and arancini. My fiancé loved his Sunday sauce and we enjoyed our desserts, especially the limoncello cake. I would say the only big disappointment was the cacio e Pepe that I ordered. I know that the recipe is to use the pasta water as the base of the sauce, but they used so much of it that the spaghetti was basically swimming in this pool of watery bland "sauce" with the occasional clump of parm. I tried mixing it up, but it didn't make a difference. I would go back, but would not order that again
Went to Ragazza last night and let me tell you I was not prepared for how delicious it was going to be. Their version of shrimp and grits beats anything I've had on the gulf coast or anywhere in the south. The addition of italian sausage was just perfect. And the way the sausage was perfectly seasoned...[insert chef's kiss emoji]. Their cocktails were amazing and if you get there during happy hour, the pricing is really good. Parking is a little skimpy but that's ok. I'll walk several blocks if I need to.
We came to KC from Florida to see a few museums. Looking for a neighborhood restaurant away from the Country Plaza where were staying, we found Ragazza. What a delight. From the moment my wife walked in using her walker, we felt part of a family. Scott, took my wife over to a table, chatting all the time and placed her walker in an out of the way place. That was important because the small tables were spaced a few feet apart and all in a line. Scott was extremely polite, knowledgeable and friendly. He greeted all of his guests the same way. In fact he introduced the people next to us who were regulars for many years. This facilitated a wonderful conversation throughout the evening. This is a smaller neighborhood restaurant run by Family! Everything is made from scratch and absolutely delicious. My wife had a gluten free meatball pasta casserole and I had the egg plant parmesan. One day later we are still talking about how great the experience was. We thought pricing was very fair and the service was very good. Do not be in a hurry. Sit! Talk! and enjoy! You will be pleased!
Was in town for business this week and my host booked us dinner at Ragazza. This is a small, intimate Italian place suited well to the neighborhood in which it sits. Ragazza had a classic feel like it has been around forever but I was told the building not to long ago was a specialty restaurant. Regardless, they have done a great job of making it feel nearly nostalgic. Food was great, as was the service. Would definitely recommend stopping by here sometime if in the area.
We are trying restaurants that are new to us during this visit to KC. Ragazza on Main St. was a great find for us tonight and we will definitely be returning during future visits to the city. The lasagna was good, as was the chicken piccata, served with polenta rather than pasta! Apparently, that is a traditional Italian pairing and I see why. It was delicious. By luck of the draw, our server extraordinaire was Scott and he added greatly to our dining experience. His menu and wine recommendations were excellent, but equally helpful was his KC history and current event knowledge, which we valued. He should be conducting seminars for new servers just learning the trade. The Limoncello Cake for dessert, along with a small ceramic cup of house made Limoncello, was the perfect ending to a delightful dining experience! Well done, Ragazza and Scott!
Food and Atmosphere was amazing, definitely be back.
Fantastic atmosphere, great cocktails and the food is amazing. And let's not forget the service! Fantastic staff!
We were recommended by our hotel next door to try this place. Food was superb and service was amazing. The restaurant was extremely busy but the staff was able to serve everyone and keep the food and drinks going. The restaurant was so busy we had to be seated at the bar. The restaurant was extremely beautiful and we had plenty to look at while waiting for our food. I tried the lemoncello shot and it had a nice sweet kick to it. Would definitely go back if we lived closer. You definitely know your eating at the right place when people are standing and waiting for your seat.
Place is lively, service is good and the food is amazing!
